I think there is still demand for the P31 as it has low idle power draw, I was considering it to replace a dead NVME in a 2020 laptop which only has PCIe3 anyway.

Yes, requires a Prime Account for this price, but almost anyone can get a free 1 month Prime Subscription, so there's no reason not to get this awesome drive at this price.

I bought this drive a year or so ago and did speed test a few times and got above rated speed. Reloaded windows because of windows 11 instead of upgrading and did a speed test and consitintly get 7.4k read and 2.2-2.5k write. Something happened to write speed. I dont know if i can recommend the platnum ssd anymore. Owned their sata ssd when they had them and raid 0 2 of them for over 3 years and still no issues. Also have a second m.2 but its their gen 3 version and that is great. Here is a current CrystalDiskMark test. Read7388.22 Write 2605.18. I might have to contact their support. Edit: Drive is 21% full 387 gigs used out of 1862.

I hope that demand lessens or becomes nonexistent.

Buying Sk Hynix scares me. Reviews say their warranty is worthless. No actual warranty support system. They expect the seller to honor the warranty not them and if the sellers refuse you are screwed.

I just had a SATA drive die. I'm about to find out. But I don't even have a need for a SATA drive anymore.

It's not the drive it was a Windows 11 update that messed with high speed ssds you'll have to do a fresh Windows 11 install to fix what the update broke
