amazingly, one (usa) review out of 168 is verified purchase - and it's two-star.

Yes, Every electronic under 100w should use-c PD...
I just read the one star review, obviously they don't have USB type c PD power adapter so they only got 5V USB power which it cannot make it work.
the only US review complaint the charger not included what's a dumb reviewer couldn't read title . Nowadays everyone should have plenty of type c PD chargers around...

Will this work with a battery bank to power it?

Not able to support my typical soldering needs. Lacking a power source is another negative.

Uh I see several reviews about it not working, including some of the freebie vine reviews. This appears to be a cheap knockoff pinecil with cheap knockoff QA/QC. I already have a pinecil anyway, which I highly recommend.

What's with the crappy soldering irons on here recently? There are plenty of garbage, no-name, cheap soldering irons, and you should buy none of them. The only thing you should consider in this price range is a Pinecil or a TS100 (basically the same thing). If you want something better than a Pinecil, you should be looking at more expensive products from reputable brands like Hakko

I been meaning to get myself a new soldering iron. The one I currently own I bought from RadioShack back in 2014 before they shutdown and it's getting long in the tooth and isn't as precise as it used to be. Thanks OP, in for one.

All vine reviews immediately ignored. What's left, in English, doesn't look good.

For serious soldering, avoid this crap... or for that matter any PD-powered iron.

To me what's even more damning is the bad vine reviews, some of them are people that took a product they didn't know how to use, but a few of them seem knowledgeable and still bash it as not being any good.

Got one. Have a nice hakko for workshop but this will be a lil more portable than a big heavy power station or even a 12v batt and pocket sized inverter
