Lots of misinformation in this thread. I have 2 of these bikes.

1) SUPER easy to assemble. All the nuts/bolts are pre-installed. You loosen and install.
2) The bike is very well-built. Quality parts including metal fenders and solid wheels.
3) There's nothing to break on the bike's handle bars and there's no way to install BMX style bars on this bike. To that poster I say post a picture of the break because that's a load of BS.
4) The bike is locked at 15mph as per European rules. Unlocking the bike is easy but not using the directions that were shared earlier…..those are wrong. See below.
5) The bike will hit 26-29mph depending on your weight.
6) Li batteries are not the problem with fires. Charging damaged batteries is. Also what you think you know about charging batteries is wrong.
- Charge your Li batteries regularly. Don't let them get to 10% or less.
- Once every 30 charges, purposely take the battery to failure and then recharge fully to avoid charge-memory.

What the bike does need is a suspension seat. I recommend the SunTour SR NCX. $50 on AliExpress.
70lbs!
Buyer beware I own this bike the handle bars rod broke toward the bottom thin cast aluminum welded bad. Installed BMX style handle bars. Seen on Facebook front fender cause for failure people to wreak. Had trouble but worked the bugs out now it a decent bike for the money.

Disagree. I'm only alive because of the hydraulic breaks on my Citibike.

I was riding around Central Park on a downhill and saw a massive pothole. Barely had enough time to react. The bike had hydraulics (it was one of those really heavy silver ones) and even though it tipped over, I only ended up with a wrist fracture.

I was probably going a little over 20mph, and only was ok with going so fast because it was one of those bikes with hydraulics.@

If you're gonna go fast, you need it for safety. Otherwise, stick with 18mph or less. Don't get a 500W model either because it's too tempting.
If it took hydraulic brakes to "save your life" you really don't belong riding e-bikes.

If you're going fast, you need hydraulic breaks. Stopping distances for disc breaks at >20mph are too long in an emergency…that's why the fast bikes have them.

First, you don't want breaks, you want brakes.

Second, nearly all e-bikes have disc brakes. Haven't seen one yet with old style friction brakes.

There is no difference in stopping distance hydraulic vs. standard as long as the rotors are the same diameter and they are set up properly. Now some women might not be able to lock up standard brakes as they don't have the grip strength.

I have 5 e-bikes, some with and without hydraulic brakes. All 5 are properly setup and can lock up the wheels at full brake. Once you lock up the wheels it's down to weight, speed and friction of the wheels only. Remember these e-bikes don't have anti-lock brakes.

If you can't fully lock up your brakes, due to your lack of strength or inability to tune your bike properly YOU SHOULD NOT BE GOING OVER 15MPH.
