PS plus collection was for (a bunch of) rather old PS4 era games. This has quite a few PS5 games. So not really comparable. I guess in 2023 some people would rather have a current-gen (aka yesterday's next gen) experience than play older games, most of which they might already own.

The list is PS5 exclsuive in the sense that the games are not available on Xbox or Switch. But yeah most of the games are available on PC.

I activated a new PS5 over the weekend. I saw Spider-Man: Miles Morales was free in the store so I claimed it when checking everything out. Then I found out about this promotion and I could have gotten God of War: Ragnarok. It's $20 vs. a $70 game that's a PlayStation exclusive. /facepalm
Attempted to chat with Playstation support but they wouldn't let me exchange the free game selection. /sigh...


As a side note for others.
I did previously have an email about this promotion but didn't realize it applied to me.
Thought it was for orders from PlayStation Direct.
I activated a Spiderman 2 Bundled console too.
Didn't have a banner or anything notifying me of this which is why I was floored to see Spider-Man: Miles Morales was free because I was planning to play through it before Spider-Man 2.
That said, the value of God of War Ragnarok is significantly more, and would alter my choice if I could.

Agree completely, Sony must think consumers are too stupid to do simple math. I received an email invitation for this offer, and I immediately "ripped" this email in half and thru it into my virtual trash.

I'm a Sony fan, but The Last Of Us is a PS3 game with dated PS3 gameplay that was inferior to their own Uncharted series at the time of release. Great presentation of an okay story though, but there's no graphical upgrade that's going to fix a tedious core gameplay loop.

If you just had your first kid at 25-29, the story will probably get you, same with God of War 4. It's funny how a generation of game devs and players both aged in the most cliche manner possible, but guess they knew their audience.
