Based on all the reviews I read, this is Kuat's version of a 1up or Quikr rack, but at this price I'd argue it's a better deal with the security features and lights that come stock on this rack. In for one.
I'd like to have this rack but my two Walmart bikes are not even half the price of this rack
I suppose this is worth the money if you have a couple bikes worth thousands. But a grand for a rack for the casual biker seems a bit extreme.

This is an amazing rack and Kuat's customer service is fantastic. I can't justify the cost to upgrade from my NV 2.0 or I'd be in.

Great Find - Thx OP

What a great price and save about $160 on taxes also, was just looking at REI and Amazon to upgrade my 1UP Equip-D Rack I have had for 5 years and love it but it only supports 50pounds per tray and we moved up to e-bikes from carbon fiber mountain bikes and need a stronger rack and was contemplating between the Quicker Rack and 1UP Xtreme Rack but saving almost $600 on this has swayed me but a little apprehensive since I haven't seen this rack in person yet.

fyi-
After I just ordered the 2" version it says there is only 1 left

I've had this for the last month or so. Other than its weight, it is perfect. I couldn't be happier. Be prepared to dish out $1200 to add 2 more bikes, unless you buy in this sale for $927.

What makes this better than a 1Up rack? It supports less weight (2 bikes at 67lbs, vs 200lbs total for 1up), smaller accommodations for wheelbase and tire thickness, it's "all metal" and by all reports is much heavier than the 1up. Aside from the built in lighting I'm not sure what makes this such a better deal, security options are available for both too.

Not trying to criticize just genuinely curious.

Totally understand. For me, the ease of use is a huge factor (mostly tooless adjustment and accommodates many tire widths), as well as the built-in security locks and lighting. If you need more weight capacity, then the 1up is an awesome option, too.

I'll try to post back when I get it with more thoughts.

Been using one for over a year now. It's pretty awesome, though has a few minor niggles. The hitch pin rattles around unless you wrap the pin with tape. Carrying the cable locks inside the car when not in use is a hassle. The ramp also has to be kept inside the car.

Finally, it's pretty heavy in the 3-bike configuration and really heavy in the four-bike configuration. It really would have benefitted from some kind of strut to make it easier to lower the rack without fighting the weight on the way down.

I know the advertised limit is 65lb, but my ebikes are 73lb. You think I can get away with a few more pounds?

Does your bike have a removable battery? If so, removing it while transporting could likely shave off 15+ pounds and get your bike within the posted weight limit.

I completely agree with these comments, and would add that the aesthetics are a big plus as well. In my case, it matches my black car and blends well.
With bikes present, extended off the rear of your vehicle, the lights are a critical addition. Their implementation of the lights is top notch and blends well with the LEDs on modern vehicles.
Ease of use is massive bonus.
I have no negative feelings about the 1-up, but this does a good job of 1-upping it...at a cost. I paid closer to full price and have "no regerts".

What will be a good top of the line bike rack from kuat for carrying high end carbon bikes? This seems heavy and more suitable for heavier bikes?
