I opted for the XM5's and they're amazing.

I own both and actually prefer the B&Ws-especially for flights. They're more comfortable, much easier to put into the case quickly, and the buttons are easier to manage. I also think they sound better for music and movies- they seem to have a lot more midrange and a larger soundstage. The Sony's don't have that "big sound".

This is minor, but the B&W has a mute button on their mic too. I use it all the time in airports.

These have more bass than the latest Beats headphones, but these high-end audio companies usually have advanced driver designs where the sound is more refined than measurements would imply.

I have been researching and little has come out but what I have read...

New DSP, tuned more to be like the Px8s.

Still have not found a proper comparison.

Do these fit ON your ears or do your ears fit inside? I'm looking for nice "around-ear" wireless headphones but so many manufacturers mix up on-ear and over-ear and nobody seems to use around. The Sennheiser HD 650 is around ear to me.

The Px7 S2e have an upgraded DSP circuit that allows for tuning for "unmatched detail, dynamics and spaciousness". They also have a 15-minute quick charge, aptX HD support, and an EQ-equipped smartphone app.
The Px7 S2e have six microphones for noise cancellation. The microphones are positioned to ensure excellent call quality, even in noisy environments.
The headphones have a rechargeable lithium ion battery that provides 30 hours of playback. With a 15-minute charge, the headphones can provide seven hours of playback.

I agree with this, I bought S2 for $400 last year when they were new. I preferred them over the Sony's because I felt Sony's have a lot of bass comapred B&W, the dialogues while watching series/movies also sounded more clear on the S2. Also I preffered using buttons over the gesture controls of sony.

Noise cancelling had negligible difference between the two.

Don't want to comment on confort since it's different for everybody but I can wear the S2 for over 8 hours without them heating up my ears (on a flight)

I have the older PX in navy/gold and with those the pads are a tad larger than my ears, which allow my ears to kind of tuck in so that the pad fits nicely around them. Very comfortable for a days use and I wear glasses.

If the PX7 is similar, they'd be over-ear.

I had the first version of these before the were noise canceling. Customer service was A++++, sent me a refurbished bear even after mine stopped working and they were out of warranty. Loved the look, the sound signature was not as good as Sony's xm's imo. I can definitely say I spent years using them and people that tried them really liked them as well. Easier to travel with than the xm's

I don't know why they use neutral as if that's always preferred, in fact most people prefer the Harman curve which is far from neutral.

Most of what you listed applies to the Px7 S2. They were asking the differences between the S2 and the S2e.

One has "e" in the name, but the other doesn't...
