As an owner of a set of BP8020 and BP9060s, the 9000 series is hot garbage.
The amps on each tower will go bad. Its a well documented issue on many AV forums. I've personally had the amps on both BP9060s replaced under warranty - parts direct from the mfg - twice on one tower, once on the other tower.
Even the replacement amps will go bad. Both of my BP9060s are now out of warranty and are currently not working (the subwoofer part)
The same symptoms are present on all 9000 series towers.
My older BP8020s? Still going strong!

That being said, I have heard owners bypassing the integrated amp with a stand alone subwoofer amp. The internal connectors are standard spade connectors and can easily be disconnected. The subwoofer can be directly connected to an external amp (search amazon for compact subwoofer amps)
