You can if you ask nicely. No one should care.

I was a waiter there long ago and I used to place multiple "refills" before the check would come and pack them up to go depending on the customer. Particularly college kids - I knew money was tight, being one myself at the time, and a bunch of leftovers would change my week quite a bit. That and they paid me like $3.50/hr. Darden restaurant bottom line was the least of my concerns.

No worries if you don't like this restaurant (I'm personally not the biggest fan) but please don't bash it too much as it's my 9 year old son's favorite place, so I'm sure there are many other OG lovers out there too... both kids and adults alike

Yeah, it's gotten pretty ridiculous with the tipping thing filtering out to Starbucks and other places like that which pay a regular wage. For instance, it was Starbucks union employees who demanded that the company add tipping screens for everyone paying by credit card at checkout and the company resisted. I think their starting pay is $15 / hour and higher at some places with a high cost of living. Sure, that may not be a "feed the family" wage, but it's always been kind of expected that people move onto more skilled employment at some point before taking on responsibilities like starting a family.

You do not need to tip ..... it is automatically added to the bill along with the extra fee to cover employee health insurance. EEK! Even some fast food wants you to add a tip or fee to carry it out. It is like my energy bill ... energy cost $98.00 Transmission fee $189.00 and taxes/fees $67.78. Those fees and tips really leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
