You can if you ask nicely. No one should care.

I was a waiter there long ago and I used to place multiple "refills" before the check would come and pack them up to go depending on the customer. Particularly college kids - I knew money was tight, being one myself at the time, and a bunch of leftovers would change my week quite a bit. That and they paid me like $3.50/hr. Darden restaurant bottom line was the least of my concerns.

No worries if you don't like this restaurant (I'm personally not the biggest fan) but please don't bash it too much as it's my 9 year old son's favorite place, so I'm sure there are many other OG lovers out there too... both kids and adults alike

Happy eating!

Is it $13.99 per person? Or can 2+ people share one?

Unfortunately, they regularly use the same water as other pastas. If you have an allergy or celiac be careful and make sure they're aware so they use a clean pot.

I guess a second person can share but they have to hide and eat under the table;-)

Actually it's good to tip even when doing a pickup. The tip gets shared by entire staff including the folks in the kitchen.
Going to need a better explanation for why I should tip when no service is provided other than "restaurant workers are poor." I'm 99% sure you don't tip fast food and retail shop workers, who on average makes less than restaurant workers.

Tip in the US is unofficially mandatory. Since we're no longer tipping specifically for "better" service, tip is now essentially just a service charge. I already pay a premium on food when eating out to cover material, overhead, and basic wages. Why would I pay more when no additional services are provided? Restaurant workers are being tipped to take our order, deliver our dishes, fill our water cups, and clean up after we eat. If I'm doing all that myself, the only person I should be tipping is myself.

Yeah the price these days is outrageous. But they get away with it because people still go there and pay that kind of money for some half decent food. I remember the price for this used to be 8.99 and 1.50 for additional protein. Been a few years but that's about how long it has been that I have eaten there.

I'm amazed that in todays economy they can afford to put such high prices for cheap food up and pasta is cheap food and get away with it.

This just isn't true. Fast food workers must make minimum wage, period. Tipped position wages are much lower.

Look, there's no law that says you have to tip, but it's the accepted norm in the society we live in. People who like to enjoy the benefits of said society but not participate in the customs and norms are called assholes. You're like the guy that won't pay into the pot for the block party but shows up anyway because you live there.

I'm not saying I "like" tipping or that it's good, but it's the way the system is set up right now. I'll support mass changes to pay these workers in a different manner so that they're fairly compensated, of course I will. But until that happens, I'm also not going to dick them over to save $3 on a few bowls of pasta.

NVM. I just called my local location. It's $13.99 per person. And at my location it actually starts at $14.99. Also you can share it, but then it won't be never ending. So basically pay for a single order to share or pay per head.
Ok Lady and the Tramp, you can eat multiple refills take the salad to go

Wrong. Tipped positions wages are indeed lower base wages. However, if they fail to meet minimum wages through tips, the employers are obligated by law to make up the difference. Ultimately, tipped workers are paid minimum wage or more, which is more than we can say for fast food workers.

So I re-emphasize - unless you start tipping every single person who provides you a service, including fast food workers and grocery cashiers, you have no fundamental standing to why we should tip anyone else who is not providing any meaningful service (i.e. restaurant workers who prepare your take-out).

Major heartburn alert. I went the other night to the local OG and got sick as a dog. Terrible heartburn and started to vomit the food while I was there.
Writing this chain off of my to do list.
