Meh, basically they doubled the price on days people like to travel (Friday/ Sunday/ Monday) and made a very FEW of those days 50% off.

I looked at multiple weekends between BWI-DAL and all the undesirable days (Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Saturday) were $99 each way regular price and not on sale with the code.....Fridays were $188 each way but a small number of them were now "on sale" for $102 with the code.

I got over 10,000 points back on a flight in November by applying the code so I guess YMMV

Tried to find a flight to ATL on Christmas Eve from BWI -- returns an error each time. Weird.

I just looked for flights last night for travel on 11/11. After applying the code today, it's about $10 less (assuming they didn't just increase the price last from last night)

I tried every option I could across 8 different airport combinations for flights between dates they claim aren't blacked out (Jan 3-5) and they all still said they weren't eligible.

This is the first SW sale in my life I can actualy benefit from for multiple trips I had planned. I couldn't even believe it, they are usually trash. Really good fares in and out of PHL/STL/MCI in December.

Yes you can do this. To ensure a seat is available you might want to book 2 tickets now and then when you receive companion pass in January, get rid of 1 ticket and then immediately book the companion ticket. You won't get money back but rather a LUV voucher or points, whichever you used for the original booking.
