This knife has a reverse scalloped edge which is designed to help you cut through things like bread, fruits, meats, etc. It's a sawing type motion with a very sharp edge. The "Ikon" means it has an African black wood handle with smoother curves versus the classic has a synthetic handle. It's considered more premium and I prefer the grip myself. This is definitely a good deal.

Edit: Not a wood handle because this is the "classic Ikon" as someone else mentioned and is a hybrid between the two.

This is the Classic IKON so it uses the same synthetic material for the handle as the Classic line. This is a hybrid of the IKON shape with the Classic's material. I just want to make sure no one is buying this expecting the wood handle.

Yes. The Wusthof is the crappy one. The 8" serrated chef's knife from Henckels is the one I really like and thought this Wusthof was going to be something similar since they call it a "deli knife" and not a "glorified bread knife".

If you feel like it's going to flex if you put some weight behind it, then it's not good. There's obviously room for flexible knives, just not in this space.

So when you search on the Wusthof site this knife does not come up, not even the item number 4214? Also, in the title and on Amazon it says Deli but on the cardboard sleeve that it comes in it says Bread Knife.
