I'm sure it's a great monitor but this needs to be less than 800 to compete with the dell or Samsung oled displays of the same size and res. The extra hz, lack of burn in, and no blurry text don't add up to $3-400

anyone that has their pc in a brighter room or wants bright HDR highlights will prefer this monitor over oled. there isnt an OLED on the market thats HDR 1400. This monitor gets 1000 nits brighter than the Alienware OLED for HDR. or 3x as bright. So there are plenty of use cases where this is the better choice. It also has better DCI-P3 Color gamut coverage than the oled from Alienware. It also has an unlimited contrast ratio like the Alienware when HDR is enabled.

id prefer the deaper blacks of oled myself, but people perfer IPS over VA panels for some reason when the VA has far superior blacks and contrrast over IPS.

Plus all full array local dimming monitors are high priced. look at some of the Asus monitors that match this one and you are looking at $3k+

People prefer IPS over VA because VA can be susceptible to ghosting, the VA I have at work has lines from corners of bright windows extending to the edge of the screen as well, I believe due to the backlight situation.

Why is this worth more than a 240hz oled monitor from LG and ASUS?

It was at a cheaper discount before (21%) it just went up in price unfortunately.

Those monitors you speak of have blurry text and what not which is why for productivity it's completely useless. This monitor has 240hz for gaming on an IPS platform. I have a 144hz and it's superb to the OLED's in everything but gaming in my opinion. I paid $900 for my Dell 38".

Exactly thank you Willie for commenting in and supporting it. At the previous sale of 21% it looked like a great deal now it's not as big of a discount. But like you said for what you're getting from a monitor this is a great one to have if you want best of the best IPS. IMO OLED isn't where it needs to be yet for most people to buy one right now and make it worth it. If all you do is game on it then by all means but jeez the text clarity on those monitors is horrendous.

Well as far as text clarity, LG oleds have much better text than qd-oled panels from Samsung which the Alienware uses.
