Some of the JBL products automatically go into "sleep mode" when there isn't any input, which causes cutouts. Most of them (I havent tried this bar) allow you to turn off the signal processor by holding down the "bluetooth" and "-" buttons for 10 seconds, which stops this bs. I believe they call it "Low Frequency Mode". I was overjoyed when I found this out.
I own one. I use it in my bedroom using ARC on lower end Samsung 43" TV and I'm very happy with it. Totally worth this price if you need something better than the trash speakers in a lower-end TV. The audio surprises me at times because of whatever simulated surround technology it uses, I'll hear things in movies/tv shows that sound like they're coming from behind me.
FWIW:

1. Bought this. Discovered it wouldn't connect via eARC on a new Sony TV. Sony Support agreed.
2. Returned it for another one, thinking maybe it was defective.
3. Replacement unit wouldn't connect either.
4. Got refund, wasted several hours and $20 in gas.
