Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
After reading/watching all sorts of reports about Gigabyte GPU PCBs cracking and them absolutely rejecting all RMAs for their defective designs, I would encourage people who may be thinking of buying their GPUs to reconsider.
This while a "deal" is the price it should've launched at
True but I would have bought this card at release for $500. I also would have bought it on BF for $500. If the price stayed above $500 for much longer after that I would have just skipped this generation altogether. I'm not even holding my breath for the 4080 to come down to a price I'd be willing to pay for it.

I just ordered one of those goofy GPU support stands from amazon for $7. If the PCB cracks with that PLUS this being a relatively light and short card I would almost be too awestruck by the incompetence to be mad.
Just like the previous zip pay promos this one seems to apply to a variety of gpus, I just tried with a couple others such as a $499.99 7800xt and a $430 6800 and it applied a 10% discount seemingly capped at $50. Considering a gigabyte 4070 has recently dropped to ~$530 without the obnoxious "zip pay" (which from what has been said in previous deals has a soft credit check and may be arbitrarily denied, as well as having some additional fees), I'd wait and see if you can use this promo on a gpu on sale as opposed to a full msrp 4070 (the price was recently dropped to $550 due to the release of the 7800xt). As a side note, gigabyte 4000 series gpus have had some issues with the pcb cracking, and some customers have struggled to get warranty support from them, so I'd avoid gigabyte if possible. Msi also has a couple of models of 4070 with exposed vrms/mosfets without thermal pads, which is extremely poor thermal design, so do your research if you go with msi.
As always, if you're just gaming amd will tend to be a much better value option, so if you're willing to do zip pay I'd recommend using this promo on an amd gpu.
Either way, the "zip pay" promos on gpus have occurred multiple times already and tend to last a fair amount of time, so I wouldn't stress about using this promo immediately and instead wait to see if you can use it on a good sale.
You'd think by now, time after time after mf time, these manufacturers would learn to just cover the basics. Always some shit with gigaby and msi

I'm a yr or 2 those cards will be at the actual sane price versus what they are now
Compared to spending $550 on Amazon (after 6% back from credit card rewards) comes out to less than $17 saved, out the door including tax and Zip fees - and quicker delivery from Amazon.
For $50 saved I would have pulled the trigger, but I'd rather not do business with Newegg and Zip anyway. Probably be able to get a RTX 4070 for $500 (plus credit card points) on Prime Day.
Don't forget, newegg is a PITA when it comes to returns. Amazon, no hassle. That alone makes it worth it unless you were really waiting on a hard to get item, which that isn't the case anymore.

Looks like the card is part of Neweggs hassle free returns, so should be similar to Amazon for returns.
First of all, thank you for the post. Secondly, I totally disagree that Gigabyte is better than Zotac and MSI. Gigabyte is one of those brands that I totally avoid nowadays. Every brand has had some issues. It's how brands react to those issues that matter and how often they mess up.
No way I pay $500 for a card without 16 GB of RAM end of story
Still funny how the 4060 had a 16 GB variant but not the 4070. I guess there are people who do calculations who need the 16 GB of RAM but not the speed.
I would personally be okay with 12 GB as I feel that is a decent leap up from 8, but I get others who may be more reluctant.
This isn't heavy card by any means so it shouldn't crack. I've personal experience with Ventus cards and Zotac. Fans went dud on both of these and so did ASUS dual models.
EDIT: Not that gigabyte windforce model fans are great but they lasted longer. I had issues on these too. Mainly dusty environment gets the fan. However, same environment I didn't have issues with fans on any of the EVGA cards, TUF series or Strix. It's unfortunate that EVGA is out. They were the best except for the 3000 series where they downsized the xc3 cooler a lot to fit 2 slot requirements. I mean the 3090 xc3 was a 2 slot card and it's got vram on back of PCB
The Gigabyte cracked pcbs were brought up on Louis Rossmann or Northwest Repair channels, both repair GPUs. The issue is the cracking near the PCI-e pins where the lock would be. Gigabyte would put the a red arrow of death sticker to show the crack location and deny RMA repairs.

Zotac and MSI cards would also be similar price. However, they are most likely inferior to this gigabyte one.

Too bad that EVGA is no longer selling video cards.

Some States such as New Hampshire and Delaware don't have sales tax

And only 8GB DDR6, right? Should have at least 16GB just to match the PS5/XSX as well.
