I am quite confident this is a rebranded Tzumi IonMug and I did a pretty meticulous testing of that one and ultimately returned it.
Bottom line doesn't live up to its claims. Can't heat anything up, marginally slows the cooling of already hot beverages, doesn't last as long as it claims. YMMV. Much cheaper than an ember though.
mode select button the bottom was stupid
edit: I'll add that after documenting the shortcomings I wrote to their support to ask if mine was a dude/operator error/what and got automated "Support ticket created" confirmation emails but zero actual follow up.
This and the Ember do something very specific. They keep your drink at the optimal drinking temperature (130-145 degrees Fahrenheit).
Do you like your drink at 190 degrees? Then this is not for you.
Do you want to keep your drink really hot for a while? Then this is not for you.
Do you simply not care about the temperature of your drink as long as it's really hot? Then this is not for you.
Do you drink your drink really fast? Then this is not for you.
But if you like your drink to remain at the optimal temperature and not be too hot or too cold, so you can enjoy it for a while, then this is perfect.
If you're like me who makes the coffee, realizes it's too hot, waits for a while for it to cool down, only to realize it's now too cold, and then microwave it only for it to get too hot, rinse and repeat, this is perfect for you.
If you (like me) spend a lot of time waiting for your drink to cool down to the optimal temperature, only for it to remain there for 10 seconds before getting too cold, this is perfect for you.
I love sitting at my desk in the morning with my coffee sitting on the Ember charger, each sip at the perfect temperature for over an hour, sometimes two.

It's bottom heavy, obviously, from the battery and heating element on the bottom but I still use my Norpro cup warmer which is at my desk. This is good for when you're lounging in areas where you don't have a hot plate like the living room or a den.

I make 12- 16oz at least once a day, so 12oz or 8oz cup just isn't enough for me. Even when I had a keurig, I would make at minimum the 10oz, but would have to make another cup shortly.
I use a Ninja now so I can brew different sizes.
An 8oz cup size must be unique to purchase.
