You schedule a pickup time when placing the order, and it's ready when you arrive. Although they've blatantly asked for a tip at the drive thru window, which really got under my skin. I mean how much do you really want for handing me an uncooked pizza through a window? I called the manager over and asked her who gets those tips, and she refused to answer.

Remember the days when tips were actually earned, instead of just expected?
Any food service establishment without table service (meaning a waiter bringing your food and drinks) historically and customarily does not deserve or expect tips, because there is no service being provided beyond preparing food you've already paid for in full. That is to say, at a counter or drive thru I'm exchanging money for product only and no tip has been earned. I seriously doubt that fast food (counter sales and drive thru only) employees are taxed on tips, since none have been earned by the nature of their work.
Great deal on really good pizza. It also freezes well by the slice after baking to microwave later. Unfortunately they closed down my local Papa Murphy's so I can't get this deal. Papa's All Meat is my fav; worth a try if you've never had it.

What the hell is Papa Murphy's? Is it anything like Papa Gino's or Papa John's? Why are pizza guys always named Papa? EDIT: No locations in NY or New England, guess that's why I never heard of them
I am originally from down the road from New Haven…New Englanders have it made when it comes to pizza quality. A take and bake place up there would wither and die on the vine within 6 months.

Hell yeah, north end and east Boston have some great pizza. Although this take and bake idea might be good with all of the colleges we have up here. Make them personal sized pizzas that can fit in a toaster oven and sell them at college campuses

Well, if there's a tipped employee, they often (always?) calculate a percentage of all sales rung up as the tips for the employee for the purposes of taxes, so even when you don't think they did anything, they paid taxes on the tip you were expected to give them. Should there be tipped employees? Probably not! Write to your representatives, though, and don't take it out on the guy trying to make ends meet.
Well, tell them you should be getting a discount first for buying their product. Cause if you didn't go in, they wouldn't be making any money and be out of business.

Tell them some profit is better than none. That'll shut them up

This is a good deal, love the murphs
We were twice monthly regulars until I brought home pizza and two salads, to find that my salad was pretty brown, and my wife's salad - well, they left the 'core' (inedible part) of the iceberg lettuce head and put it her salad.

I took pics and sent them to corporate. A few days later I was cc'd on an email to what must have been the franchisee, but it was just my complaint. No apology, no nothing. A couple of days later, I get an automated coupon email with "Sorry!" added to the front of the subject line of the coupon's title. I've never been back to that store, due to no effort put into an apology. How hard would have been to be blunt and honest? "We're so sorry. We fired Joe for that crap salad he made you. It will never happen again".

We tried another location on the other side of town I got to stare at a dirty mop bucket of water (guess they were trying to shut down early) while they tried to make my pizza. They already put away all the cups, scales and such (still 30 mins before closing) and just winging it on toppings. They were so few toppings that I called them out on it. They immediately loaded both pizzas with toppings, which I was glad for, but I shouldn't have to say something to get what I paid for.

I might try PM every 4 months, but these two experiences has lost me as a twice monthly customer.

I gave in an ordered from a location across town. It doesn't appear to work on Mediums, but does on Large size.

What was unsettling is that the price jumped a bit at checkout. Closer investigation shows it 'defaulted' to a $4.80 tip. That's a bit sneaky.

get FAMILY... surface area of larger pizza's makes up for the cost in most cases.

Yet if you or I shortchanged them by that amount, they'd be on the phone with the police. Calling theft a default tip doesn't make it not theft. Shameful of them to even try something like that.
