Getting a lot of these Lauren by Ralph Lauren's post lately from Macy's. Typically seems like MSRP is artificially inflated. This is the lowest quality RL product equivalent to Chaps brand.

They used to claim this is $395 now it's $495 for inflation. Surely if that was the real price that ANYONE paid there would be a huge resale opportunity.

But there isn't.

Thanks again SD staffer who is bought and paid for by Macys for trying to trick us into thinking this is a deal with FAKE anchor pricing.

Getting a lot of these Lauren by Ralph Lauren's post lately from Macy's. Typically seems like MSRP is artificially inflated. This is the lowest quality RL product equivalent to Chaps brand.

The website lists their content similarly to the solid Luther overcoats, but is wrong. These Luther overcoats are only 52% wool, 44% polyester, and 4% other fiber. Hence, 28% less wool and no cashmere.

What makes this any slicker than the other Men's coats that are on sale at Macys? They all appear to be around the same price.

Lauren is the RL cheaper line. $100 for this seems about right.

I believe it is just a brand for Macy's. It is not one of official brands in RL. I would consider it as just Macy's brand.

Keep in mind Lauren is not owned nor operated by Polo / Ralph Lauren. It is a diffusion line that has been spun off years ago. Their MSRPs are horribly inflated. Overall it's lower tier stuff, and usually employs mixed materials (part wool, part acrylic, part poly, etc), so check the composition.

Seems like another ploy where consumers are mislead by claims of association with major luxury brand but at a killer price that could be an error... act fast to close the sale before they're sold out and you miss the boat only to realize it's garbage

I haven't worn my woolen overcoat since before the pandemic, but mostly because I no longer wear a tie on the rare occasions I go into the office. But if I had to wear a tie and slacks, or a suit, I'd definitely wear it on cold days. Can't get into the Patagonia vest with tie thing.
