Exactly. You have to spent $100, then get the card and use it fairly quickly. This worked fine for me when they had this same promotion recently, but only because I wanted a bunch of stuff on clearance at REI.

You can buy a normal REI gift card with the bonus card during the bonus card redemption period. It sounds stupid and virtually no other retailer allows this but I've done it a few times now.

It is different from time to time. On some promotions, it works; on some, it does not. I would not count on it.

If you spend $100 between certain dates, and are a member, you will get a $20 gift card which you can spend between certain dates.

It's confusing, I'm sorry. Please support REI employees unionizing. REi employees are angry and good at understanding our rights.This place stopped being a co-op a long time ago.
