I can't count the number of times the transponder fails to be read and it ends up billing against your license plate. When this happens it will always bill you for the cost of 1 person. Making it worse there is like a 1 week delay for those charges to reach your account so by the time you are aware you've reached over hundreds of dollars in charges which are hard to get reversed. Scam.

Most people who can afford 50K ev are not eligible for the tax rebates but pay a lot income tax on the other hand.

The discount is only applicable when HOA times are enforced. That means weekends and off peak times are not valid.

And I really hated fasttack. 680 always has issue with scanning my toll tag and will charge me. 880 has no issue. If you have fast track, I recommend check the balance regularly. If the charges are based on license plate number, that means you could be charged even though if you multiple occupants.
I been having the same issues too! I feel like it's a scam on the express lane because of the scanner issues.

I always have to chat with the rep from Fastrak, and they never accept fault that their scanner are faulty, instead blames drivers for their faulty fastrak or putting it at the wrong spot.

Which tax rebates? I looked into the CA incentives to get an EV and it's income capped at like 30k.... who could even survive???

Cars are one case where "trickle down" economics makes sense, because the cars that rich people buy today stay on the road for much, much longer than the couple of years that the original owners drive them for.

As someone who has always bought used cars, and whose last couple used cars have been very affordable electric ones, I say go for it rich people! Buy some EVs, then trade them-in. Heck, get a few! I'll gladly throw in my literal two cents or whatever it is to help keep that going.
But you're sitting on a seat someone else farted on....

Between high gas prices and increased tolls getting an EV and a FastTrak pass is the way to go.

Isn't this the way it has been all along? For express lanes that have the multi selection transponders?

The discount is applied to only clean air vehicles with Carpool stickers.
Regular car do not get discount, but express lane is free if you have 3 passengers.
