I grew up eating these so it's not nasty for me. But I agree that this is an acquired taste.

Even the normal price of about $16 online isn't bad. I've never had this brand though. I go to the local Asian market after the festival and stock up. I freeze some if the expiration date is in November.

I love traditional lotus seed paste mooncakes but this brand is mediocre from the several times I've tried it over the years.

It's a good value though and hits the spot well enough for me since top-tier brand mooncakes are $50+ these days. Frown

I miss the oily, soft egg yolks. Frown

It's worth checking at your nearest H-Mart or 99 Ranch Market locations. They had huge stacks of a variety of moon cakes when I was in-store last Wednesday. They'll likely be on sale price this week at most locations now that the holiday has passed. If you're not too far from Chinatown district in the OC or LA, the stores there will be worth trying too.
