In China, all moon cakes will put to 90% off discount right after the moon festival (Sep 29, this year).

Only good Asian stuff at Costco are the fruits. Everything else is processed to hell. Pretty sure these greasy mooncakes are full of seed oils.

I'm not a fan of the yolk or double yolk otherwise I would jump at this. Love white or red lotus filling but avoid egg yolks. I got some Korean branded ones from H Mart and they were pretty good, $16 for 4 moon cakes. I also picked up some from Lucky Seafood in Mira Mesa SD, these were Viet branded, I honestly did not like the Viet ones because they were too dry. For those who don't like moon cakes, try different brands, you may end up liking one.

Not even close, moon cakes have a soft breading with some kind of thick paste filling. Often red bean, mung bean, pork. I prefer sweet moon cakes but there are also savory ones. Moon pies are more like whoopie pies.

Great price, I saw these at Costco earlier last month and they are something like $13 or 16 for the tin. I am Chinese, and while I don't really like mooncake too much (my favorite is pineapple filling because it is like the pineapple cakes lol), this brand is decent and good for a beginner to mooncakes.

You're supposed to share these with multiple people for just one mooncake. You can expect to eat about 1/4th of one in a sitting, it's very dense and rich, goes well with tea because the tea has bitterness and astringency to cut the heaviness. Don't be scared by the calories since it's split between many people. The salted egg yolk is a little bit of an acquired taste, but if you like sweet and salty, you may like this. Joy Luck Palace I think is a Taiwanese brand, and these are less "greasy' than the Cantonese style mooncakes, which some may prefer.

Maybe, if you wash it down with an RC Cola.
