Can this be jailbroken, or is it stuck with crappy amazon store ecosystem?

Look up FireToolbox , it automates everything. You can remove most (recommended) or all (experimental) of amazon's bloat. I have used it on Fire 10 a lot, hopefully still works on Fire 11.

How did this turn into a rant about Amazon GC policy change thread? There're other forums for off topic discussion.

Chat with them and complain. Maybe enough complaints will get them to rethink this disaster of a change.
Amat has basically turned into Google now they give ZERO F's
See my post
They will just outright rob you now and tell you to get lost.
They went from the best CS to the worst Google tier Garbage almost overnight.

Prime Day 2.0 is October 10th.
If you're going to do a Trade-in, I'd wait until then to purchase to see how they configure the Prime Day discount. Last Prim Day, the 20% trade-in coupon came off the full price of $230. $230- 20% - $184 - $80 Prime discount = $104. Plus whatever GC amount Amazon gives you for the device you traded-in.

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=164672648&postcount=227

Though you might want to Submit the Trade-in now, so Amazon will receive it with enough to time for appraisal, if needed. Because it's YMMV on who qualifies for Instant Credit.
This is a greta advice because Amazon trade ins are not same day anymore. I stopped doing trade ins because of this policy change.

It does but you will want to turn off your router before powering it on for the first time.
Hopefully you will get one on FW 8.3.1.5
You want to preserve this FW at all costs.
If you update past this FW you will not be able to disable any Amazon apps or services because they will be protected services
So no debloat and you won't be able to disable fire launcher.
You can still install the play store and there is a slightly less desirable workaround for using another launcher.
I love this tablet but I did have some issues with Google play services
Like apps especially Google apps force closing on launch.
I have it working great again but it happened twice and it has happened to others and nobody knows why exactly but reinstalling play services and running an ADB command to purge the whitelist fixed it after a lot of playing around with it.
It works great when it works.

Also buyer beware, I ordered the 128GB instead of the 64GB by mistake and it was the bundle, Immediately tried to cancel but couldn't.
Amazon only provided 2 drop off locations at Amazon lockers that was the only way I could return it
Both locations were and hour and a half RT drive and were in the worst location possible,no parking, no stopping, closest parking was a 40 min walk and $50
Unsafe area filled with urine soaked homeless bums who grab you and demand money.
This was the only drot for the tablet but the accessories had to be dropped at a UPS not Amazon locker
About a half hour drive each way to UPS store now since the one in my town closed.
I had to go to two places to return the items.
Amazon refunded the tablet and the stylus.
It has been over two months now and I have not got the money for the keybt case.
It says "return started" still
I have been calling Amazon CS for 2 months now starting the week after it was delt to them and they told me to wait.
This week I called CS 12 times and spoke to about 30 different CS agents and supervisors.
They all tell me that there is nothing they can do and telle to contact the shipping carrier which is UPS who confirmed the package was delivered 2 months ago 2 days after I dropped it off.
Even after escalation they are telling me that I am not getting my money back now.
They all say it has been over 60 days and there is no option in their system to issue a refund, they admit the package was delivered to them but they say it was not scat into their returns system at the fulfillment center and said they will only help me any further.
This is criminal
Amazon CS sucks now.
Also they refused to comment me at all after the tablet was "out for delivery" on two separate dates and never showed up and it was "signature required" so I had to stay home all day for 3 days and two days it never showed up.
When it did come there was no signature required.

These cheap bastards would not even issue a $5 courtesy credit.

and the last 2 items I ordered from prime 3 weeks ago said next day delivery and I still have no ETA yet
sold and shipped by Amazon and it has been 3weeks and it still says delivery date pending.
I cancelled my prime because I am just fed up
with their abhorrent CS and talking to 3rd world people that can barely speak English and give 0 F's
Order mistake is human error. Do you live up in the mountains? I have never returned an Amazon product via Amazon locker. It's always UPS store because I have a lot near me.

That's why I was saying I would wait. Because today's price is just a straight 'Sale price' of $149, so that's what the 20% coupon applies to.

On Prime Day, it was deducted as an $80 off "Prime Day discount" when added to cart.
Yep it was. Got 2 new tablets for my kids and traded 2 old tablets in. It was marvelous

Do your friends call you "butterfingers"? Do you drop your electronics?

I've got Fire tablets that run 24/7 as camera monitors and music service remotes and not a single problem.

That said, I wouldn't use them for my daily tablet -- they're too slow.

If you have some of those echo dots you got for $1-10 in the past years sales, you can trade it in and knock another 20% off this tablet. $130 is sweet.

The truth is, Fire Tablets are laggy devices. Sure, you can use one if you have patience. But once you've used an iPad or a Samsung or Lenovo tablet, using a Fire tablet as your daily tablet is painful.

The experience on an iPad is night and day compared with Fire. Now, $250 for an iPad? Not sure about that.

The "Max" must stand for "Maximum disappointment". These are poor performers for the money with genuinely underwhelming SoC's, only 4GB RAM, and base 64GB internal storage -AND you have to cope with lock-screen ads? Yeah I'm not seeing much value here.

There are tablets that sit in the same price-range that come with double the RAM, double the internal storage, no lock-screen ads, actually normal Android OS, and similar strength SoC's. If you're going to buy something that comes with an SoC that performs like a couple year old midrange chip, at least get something with respectable storage and RAM.

One example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEKmZQadKl0
The only good fire tab were the HDX.

These recent fire tab is for kids junk.
$150 for a slow 5 year old cpu is a bad deal, when a super fast ipad 9 is $180-250 , $150 Windows Tab

These low end mediatek tab should be $80. $150 should you get the Diministy 8000 or A13 class cpu

My Amazon trade in gave me the trade in value. But I was supposed to get a 20% off coupon. But it has been over 10 days and tracking only shows shipment created. Anything I can do here. Customer support says they can apply coupon if I made a purchase
What did you trade-in? When you got the confirmation email that your trade-in was approved, the 20% off should've been loaded to your Amazon account right then.

And that coupon would just automatically apply to the next qualifying Amz device you put in your cart.

iPads suck
I have an iPad and the max 11 and a 2019 HD 10
The HD 10 was my go to tablet over the iPad which got almost zero use.
IOS is crap and too locked down.
I am hoping this will change now that they have been fort to allow sideloading in the EU.
The HD 10 was great for awhile but it is laggy and very glitchy now.
The max 11 so far feels amazing after installing GPS via FTB
And disabled fire launcher with nova.
I didn't even do any other debloating besides fire launcher.
There are no glitches and no lag and this tablet even runs dolphin, though not great but Metroid prime nruns great on it.
I hate the iPad aspect ratio and prefer a more wide screen ratio for media consumption.
Thao tablet is kind of a happy medium not so stretchy but still good for movies
And not so stretched it is awkward for productivity.
The button and charge port layout take some getting used to though.
This thing feels really nice and premium. The low RAM has not even been an issue for me.
The only thing I had trouble with is formatting the SD as internal storage.
My advice, DON'T.
It works fine on my HD 10 with the same brand and capacity card but this tablet would not detect it most of the time and it would not boot because it said missing storage device.
But iPads have no removable storage at all.
This tat doesn't feel like a fire tablet at all with the play store and nova launcher replacement for fire launcher.
It does have some bugs and sideload apps were force closing because of GPS issue but reinstalling GPS fixed it
When it works it works amazing
I rather deal with those issues that IOS and the locked down BS that revokes sideloaded apps 10 minutes after you install them and get them working.
Jailbreaking and sideload are just waaaaaaaau too much of a hassle these days and you will need to spend every waking hour jair trying not keep up with that crappy scene just to run any apps you want.
I will take the max 11 with GPS and revanced any day over an ipad
