Can this be jailbroken, or is it stuck with crappy amazon store ecosystem?

Look up FireToolbox , it automates everything. You can remove most (recommended) or all (experimental) of amazon's bloat. I have used it on Fire 10 a lot, hopefully still works on Fire 11.

How did this turn into a rant about Amazon GC policy change thread? There're other forums for off topic discussion.

What did you trade-in? When you got the confirmation email that your trade-in was approved, the 20% off should've been loaded to your Amazon account right then.

And that coupon would just automatically apply to the next qualifying Amz device you put in your cart.
I actually clicked on the trade ins link answered the questions and when I got the email about the barcode to use to send it back through UPS I purchased the Max 11 at $150. After that I went to drop off my old Fire 8 and Echo Dot to Whole Foods, as soon as I got home the credits were already in my account and also the 20 percent discount. So I ended up buying another Max 11 because the first purchase didn't have those credits and discount, I could've just gone to Amazon Chat and get the price adjusted but I think just dropping off the the other Max 11 to Whole foods for a return would be less of a hassle.

No it's not.
But then again Samsung/apple tablets costs at least 6-7 times more.

Adding another comment and vote to avoid all Fire tablets... I've had 7-8 fire tablets over the years and every single one is crap. I may be slow, but I've finally learned to avoid this slow, bloated, bad UI, piece of junk.

might depend on apps you use most. I'm a Directv Stream guy and have all three streams going sometimes. I will be waiting to see what BF or Prime Day brings.

I just discovered that DIRECTV Stream app is available on my Fire 8+ with wireless charging. Maybe that's new, can't seem to cast it to my Fire Cube or Firesticsk. It was one of my biggest complaints with Fire OS platform, lack of good apps but now loving my little Directv tablet.

I personally wouldn't but another Amazon device. It gets terribly sluggish after a while and the work around to get native Google Store is a headache. Wait for a Tab A sale (probably during Black Friday /Cyber Monday)

You can trade in any old amazon echo dot from years ago for $5 credit + 20% off this tablet which brings it down to less than $120 before tax. Seems darn good to me. The only concern is no google play but I can probably find some workaround.

WARNING

If you do trade ins, take video of your old product.

The stupid clerk didn't give me any confirmation, said that I'd get an email. Well, I did and it turned out that the stupid Amazon clerks at Whole Foods marked my tablets as cracked screen when they WERE NOT cracked which dropped trade in value to $5 each.

After this fiasco, I would not buy Amazon tablets anymore.

Walmart has this same tablet with almost exact specs for the same price and it comes with full Android, not crappy Fire OS.

I would return all of my Fire 11 tablets and trade them in for the Walmart ONN 11 Pro [walmart.com] if I could.

Fire OS is buggy AF even with the Fire Toolkit hacks to get to act like a real Android tablet.

And it's slow with all of the Amazon bloatware, which cannot be uninstalled, even with the Fire toolkit.

You can get one without ads for $120

Select an option with keyboard and stylus and apply for trade in discount (no need to trade in anything actually).

The cost is $210

After purchase, cancel trade-in item and return extra crap to get $90 back, making it $120 + tax

I personally would not pay anything for amazon tablet Smilie

You do not need to jailbreak to side load apps. You can simply enable APK installs in settings and install whatever you want that way. These are not restricted in any way, they simply just do not ship with the Google Play Store.

Would it be wrong to assume that Roblox 'still' cannot be used on these devices?
