Highly unlikely considering the Quest 2 was rarely discounted....went up in price instead....and this is a new release.

I don't know how long after release it was, but I got my Quest 2 in 2021, when it was still $300 and Amazon had a deal that included $50 Amazon gift card credit.

I expect there may be some free game type incentives but not a cheaper price. I'm holding off for a while to see if anything better happens. Not getting my hopes up.....but you never know 😉

just my opinion.. .but I think the release price is high. .

That's what I'm thinking/holding out for. I've seen a lot of people talking about not being willing to spend so much more on the new one. Hopefully if sales are soft, come christmas season they'll bundle it with extra games or a giftcard or the elite battery strap, etc. They absolutely won't reduce the price or offer a substantial discount, but a bigger bundle at MSRP isn't far fetched.

If you are a Costco member, they sell Quest 3 combo with elite strap and case right now.

1. Upgrade the Quest 2 with better visuals: BONUS!
2. Upgrade the Quest 2 with twice the speed: BONUS!
3. Raise the price $100 to account for these upgrades: ACCEPTABLE

4. Fail to put put in a $2 micro sd slot and cripple it with only 128gb of memory: FAIL!
5. Put only 128gb of memory in the device when 256gb would only have cost you $10: FAIL!

I will say that 128gb may fill up quick. Many games aren't huge but Asgards wrath will probably be at least 20-40gb and some larger experiences will be that size as well. Taken into consideration you may then only fit 5-7 AAA size games on 128gb. I have a 64gb Quest 2 and only have like 5-10 games installed at any given time, and once I beat them or want to move onto something else, just have to delete them and make room for what im doing next. I can always reinstall but not an ideal situation.

I'm in the same boat...I've gotten by with the 64gb, but definitely have done some selective storage shuffling..it was $200 new.

I keep a few sidequest games installed too.

An SD slot would have been appreciated.

The stock head straps are garbage too...they need to be upgraded.

You'd think the new version would have these simple things, but nooooo.

You have to factor in the costs of the needed upgraded head strap, face cushion, and controller grips. Easily another $100.

I'm really on the fence... I used the quest 2 through last winter, but its been collecting dust since then. I feel like the Quest 3 doesn't have enough new content yet to justify the $500 upgrade.
