Have had this laptop since it came out, battery life is okay 4-5 hours doing office work, plays games well, I get 90ish fps in cod mw2 2022 at high settings 100ish in bf2042 and 240 max settings in rocket league. My main complaint is upgrading is a pain as the ram is in the keyboard side of the main board. So you have to remove it to do upgrades, good thing is it's only like 6 screw after the back plate comes off.

Using this from more than 16 months (open and close atleast 3 times a day), No issue with hinges. just make sure you open from the middle point not from the corners.

Here is a review of a very similarly spec'd laptop. Draw your own conclusion.

I bought this for my daughter in March for $100 more. She is very happy with it and has it at college. She is only a light gamer, though, so the hardware is surely underused.

I have been using this laptop daily for nine months.

It's good, but one of the quirkier PCs I've had. It won't sleep if you choose that from the Windows menu, but will if you leave it sitting and have configured the power settings for sleep. Closing the lid doesn't always force it to sleep either.

Windows updates will sometimes break the graphics driver - it enables the basic windows display, which causes it to not use the video card. It's a simple fix now and then (just disable the basic driver and reboot), but was an annoyance until I figured it out.

Windows lock screen is often sluggish - it can take a moment before it registers me putting my passcode in. Occasionally (about once a week) instead of reviving, it reboots.

Keyboard is great (though I miss the numeric pad), trackpad is...fine? I use mice/trackballs.

Hinges and heat (which were mentioned in a number of reviews) have never been an issue.

Like I said - quirky. No dealbreakers and has been solid other than the quirkiness.

I have the same issue with the sleep.
Another issue is with hibernation. Whenever i hibernate the laptop there is more than 70% chance that, computer will not turn on and have to restart it.

You can add the larger 99.9wh battery in this one to get more battery life.

Its BTY M6M. You will need to cut the side screw holders and boom it works fine. increases slight weight of the laptop. I did that myself. I have used the one from Amazon for now. looking to find any new pulled out battery from the other MSI laptops.

If there was ever a 3060 Ti mobile card, this would be its equivalent.

I think the person was making fun of the people who always complain about the hinges, not he (or she) was concerned about them. That is how I read it at least.

Not buying MSI again; they won't support this 6 months from now. Their computers work pretty well when new, but if it's on sale it's end of life, and the crap build quality will leave you wishing you'd spent your money more wisely.

If I were some sort of business that had annual upgrades already built into the expenses budget, then fine: they'll last a year or two before self-destructing, but I have to live in the real world so my laptops need to last 4 years as primary and a few more as backup. This won't.

I mean I have had this exact laptop for over a year now and they just released a bios update last month....
