Not identical. The S7 MaxV has a fill light and camera to detect obstacles. This Ultra (no MaxV) has a sensor suite that's similar to the S8's. This is an excellent bot, but the MaxV is objectively better obstacle detection and avoidance. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6...EhM&t=623s.

This does have the mop dryer. You can get a dryer module for the MaxV from AliExpress for $40 or so. The MaxV dryer only dries the mop, not the base, so it's still not as good.

Roborock does not make it easy to figure out which bot, at which pricepoint, hits your sweet spot.
You left out the mopping part - vacuuming and mopping is not a "little house work", and for hardwoods it can be a daily activity, especially with kids and dogs. And some of us prefer to get exercise doing things that are fun, like outdoor activities, instead of mundane housework. I suspect many folks, like me, use this for the daily clean and then do a weekly or monthly cleaning by hand.

You assume folks buying these are lazy, rather they are just making choices about how they spend their time. Some folks enjoy washing their car by hand, others drive through a car wash so they can get to their tee time.
That's an amazing deal on this bot. It's just as good or better than the newer version

Q Revo for $700 (or current price of $800) is a better deal I think. I've had no issues with object avoidance on my Revo, but that's probably the one area this one is better. The mopping quality on the Revo is excellent and I don't think this can match it.
I was wondering about the same, but after quite a few comparison reviews on YouTube it seems like the mop on this S7 works just as well if not better than the rotating pads on the Revo.

Does Amazon price match? I just ordered one from Amazon yesterday.
Amazon prime day is in the 10-11, going to be a lot of sales.

This has a 90 day return period with Target. So if it goes cheaper or you decide you want a different vacuum on sale you can just return it to Target.

Got lucky and got the S7 MaxV Ultra 2 weeks ago for $500 on marketplace. Will say the extra sensors in the MaxV really help it navigate the house. Does a great job vacuuming and mopping

Thanks! Is there a link to the specific aliexpress module? Interested

The video is both amusing and concerning. Some people buy these things along with crazy gym memberships - and no,Im not talking about serious/moderate fitness gurus. Save the cost of both and manually clean the messes. Nothing like the feeling off sitting down to relax after busting your butt cleaning your house the old school way.
You clearly don't get life:
1. You must work a soul sucking job so you can buy this and a gym membership.
2. You need this to save you time so you can go to the gym.
3. You need to go to the gym so you can post Instagram photos of yourself to compensate for your empty life.

With all that said, I have a Roborock 7 something, and I love it. I go for a walk with my dog, and when I come back, my wood floors look perfect.

I'm waiting on the q revo to go on sale at $700 again. Even with this discount I think the q revo is superior in my use case (all hardwood and some rugs, little need for object detection). Vacuum wars has a good video comparing all of roborock's models

My S7+ just died on me. Had it two years. I loved it but wish it lasted longer. I actually was just attempting to change out the drive motor today and I had no luck. This deal comes at the perfect time but dang it adds up quick.

I have the 15% off so I might as well go for it. 90 day return policy so hopefully if I have any problems with it Target won't fight for a return within that time frame.
So this $800 robot dies in 2 years while my Roomba is still working after 13?

Is this same as MaxV Ultra?
The "V" is missing.
