MSI Desktop Codex R 13NUC5-075US:

Intel Core i5 13th Gen 13400F (2.50GHz)
32GB DDR5
2 TB PCIe SSD
Windows 11 Home 64-bit
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB GDDR6

Could probably use some fans on the top.
Compared to the Costco deal, this has a better CPU cooler and case with better airflow.

Seems like a decent price, pretty good hardware specs, what is the Costco deal?

I have 16GB of ram I bought not realizing that my desktop will not allow me to upgrade.
Can anyone tell me if this (or any other desktop here on SD) will allow ram upgrades? If so, how do I find out what kind of ram it will take?
Much appreciated. Sitting on $100 of ram collecting dust is painful.

Of course, but not sure you need to if this one already has 32gb of ram.

This is the motherboard used in the desktop.

You will just need to check a couple things. The first is the type of memory you bought (I'm guessing DDR5 if somewhat recently), when looking at any of the deals on here make sure it uses DDR5 (or whatever you have). Lastly make sure that the board isn't already fully populated for whatever prebuilt you're looking at. Most often these computers will have 4 slots total and *generally* two used allowing space for two more. If it's not listed on the retail site (it should be under specs or more details etc) check if you can find it on the manufacturer's site. It will be listed as 16gb RAM (2x8) or 32gb RAM (16x2 or sometimes 4x8).

Edit: forgot to mention this one has two slots available

Looking for something decent to use as a gaming computer, I have a couple different laptops from work I'm allowed to use for anything, generally some intensive games cause them to crash

I guess what I want to know is if this will be a good solution to run any game at high settings for a few years?

Depends on game and resolution, 1080p should be no issue for most games , 1440 some games. Do you already have a monitor?

Hey there, yes, I have an ultra wide monitor that's hooked up to my laptop because I've never used a dedicated pc, maybe that's part of the issue

Almost every game I play crashes my laptops, only games, I can hear them screaming so I'm looking for a decent option

What's the max resolution and refresh rate? What type of games do you play?

I would get something with a i7 and rtx4070. Something like this https://slickdeals.net/f/16968409-msi-aegis-r-13nue-458us-gaming-desktop-i7-13700f-rtx-4070-16gb-ddr5-2tb-pcie-ssd-b760-mobo-650w-psu-1499-f-s?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

But a good deal would be $1300, we should see some deals coming this week for Prime Day.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye out, don't think I ever bought anything on Prime day so I'll be looking for deals now
