The MSRP of $999 seems like a bit much as it is definitely not on par with Concept 2 (the best) which also is sold at $1k. 3Cs says this is the lowest price ever with $600 and $700 being the sale price. One review also says that for experienced rowers, it may not offer enough resistance.

Newbee to this but was looking to get either stationary bike or rowing machine. Is rowing machine better for whole body workout and is this good? Should I wait for black Friday?

The price is good, but that's about it. Rowing machine and spin bikes should be smooth and really good for one to continue doing it. If it starts shaking or isn't smooth to workout most will stop using it and it will just occupy space in the house or garage.
Most people get these machines as feel good factors; they are very excited while getting it with big plans to work out. After a week or so they would go back to their routine never to use it again. Hence I find many such machines are available for cheap on Craigslist.
