I wish that they would focus on the build and quality of their established products, which they have let slip, rather than venturing into new areas.

They outsourced all their stuff to be built in China. This is the problem. I'm never buying another weber product unless it's old stuff on craigslist or facebook. All their stuff from the last 3-4 years have shit quality, and the prices have been raised substantially. It's almost funny how high the prices of their stuff is. You never, EVER see them put multi hundred discounts on their stuff, they are trying to sell their garbage quickly.

They aren't built in China. Some parts might be sourced from there but they are assembled in the US. Pretty common across most grill brands unless you're going to spend $3k or more.

As with Canyonero, "unexplained fires are a matter for the courts." I kid, I kid. Clean your smokers, friends.

My father in law had an issue with the auger on the EX6 version so I'm sure these have issues as well.

Wow..so Treager grills are probably better than this one?

That's too bad about their quality as I currently have a genesis, q100, smoky Joe, smoky mountain, and kettle grill. 😆

I highly recommend not buying a Weber pellet smoker. I've replaced the auger and motor on my father-in-laws 3x. It also heats super uneven (right side super hot, left side cooler). My CampChef was cheaper and has been great for 5+ years.

Yep.

Weber was sold some time ago. The jewel in Palatine, Illinois is long gone.

Weber, Inc. The company was family owned until it sold a majority stake to BDT Capital Partners in 2010. In 2021 it became a publicly traded company until it was taken private by BDT Capital Partners which purchased all remaining out-standing stock in 2023.

Go-Anywhere, Spirit, Spirit II, and Limited Edition Red Kettle series of Weber grills are assembled in China. Even though not all their shitty products are made in China, it's when they started globally sourcing their parts and assembling some stuff over there is when the quality went down. Along with the prices going up 25-50%.
