As usual, the Amazon listing is incorrect about the country of origin on German tool brands. Like most Weras, these are made in Czechia. KCTool has a much better description: https://www.kctool.com/wera-07367...lications/

According to most everyone's favorite price tracker, this is the lowest they've been since 2020. And other than a brief dip to about $35 in August, they've been closer to $40 since then.

are these special? why so expensive? they sale these at Walmart for 8 dollars. Are we breaking free tiny versions of impact screws? I don't get it, but I'm open to suggestions.

I am not an expert on screwdrivers or wera or anything like that, I'm just a guy that buys more tools than he needs because of slickdealz and no willpower. Anyways, I bought these about 2 years ago roughly for around $36 and I have to say I really love them. Great screwdrivers, the handles are easy to grip. Quality of these tools a long with the amount of screwdrivers and - combined with the fold up pouch they come in all add up to a being a pretty great set of screwdrivers. I would buy them again without hesitation. Hope this helped someone with a decision!

im not agruing the price or quality people can spend their money however they want, I'm just trying to understand what is great about them? is it the handle? i work on electronics, so I understand the need for this in a niche situation.

You don't want to talk about quality but you want to understand what's so great about them?

These are quality because of the steel and heat treat of the steel to make it perform at a higher level. Soft steels or improperly hardened steels can actually break or deform more easily (this also damages screws more frequently). A raw steel or metal is not ready to be used for something like a knife or a tool. It goes through various phases during a heat treatment cycle. Cheap products usually use inferior steels (not always) or put the metal through a very simple heat treatment so they can do it quickly. This will change the performance of the tool. There are other advantages like ergonomics, storage, and all of that if it fits your use case, as well. People also just buy because they want all tools from the same brand. You also pay more to get tools from countries paying labor more fairly.
Are you getting many times the performance? Not always. The cheap tools have the best value overall, but they will strip more screws.

If you work with small electronics and cameras often the philips screws are JIS or JCIS. Easy to strip if you use standard philips screwdrivers.
