Seems there are different deals for different people. Mine says, "Get $10 off your eligible purchase when paying with Discover rewards. Minimum spend $75."

Is it just me or have these become increasingly challenging to use over time? So much stuff Amazon doesn't sell directly now and rarely are the cheapest option when they do.

True, something is better than nothing....but not if you're feeling compelled to buy an item(s) that you may not really need, just to save the equivalent of 13% (or less, if you're spending more than $75.00). No rush, though, as this deal runs through the end of the year.

Thanks OP - got it on 3 accounts. Other accounts got the $10 off $75
No criticism here, but how many Amazon accounts does one person/family really need? If they're prime accounts, you're spending way too much monthly (reducing the overall value of purchases/discounts considerably).

These accounts are strictly for amex/discover/Citi promos, I've only got one primary account with an active Prime subscription

One would think that, if you've never used a Discover promo, you'd receive the better (30% off) deal. I've never used a Discover promo, but only received the $10 off deal (which is mediocre).

I guess that makes sense. Something to consider. Do you need to use separate email addresses for each account, or are you able to use just one?

In some cases, the commissions that they make from third-party sellers could be more profitable than sales of items purchased directly from manufacturers/distributors. Supposedly, Amazon doesn't dictate the prices that third-party sellers charge, but they do get a healthy commission on these sales (without having to invest in the inventory). It's basically a win-win for Amazon.

Oh yeah that's entirely their retail business model now, free money basically now that they're basically everyone's default first stop. I just find it interesting to realize how much more stuff now seems to be sold by the manufacturers or distributors.
