why this over a 7800xt? 7800XT is about $100 cheaper, and performs slightly better from what I'm reading.

1080p resolution:
RX 7800 XT is 9.7% faster than RX 6900 XT
1440p resolution:
RX 6900 XT is 8.7% faster than RX 7800 XT
4K resolution:
RX 6900 XT is 11.8% faster than RX 7800 XT

Whether or not its efficient depends on what you're comparing it to. When compared to the 4070, its efficiency is lacking. GamersNexus has the 4070 consuming 100 less watts under load. Other publications have 50-150w less depending on the workload. It was a good card for its time, but I think the current pricing for the latest generation of mid range cards make purchasing a 6900xt, at this price, a mediocre choice. I think it would need to be priced around $425 to make it a good deal compared to other cards at that price.

Depends on the game, I think. I saw a comparison video where in most games, the 7800XT was between 10 and 20% better based on framerates. There were a few games where they were nearly equal, but again, begs the question why anyone would pay up to $100 more for this card over a 7800XT

4070 is very efficient, but this card performs a bit better. Especially once you crank the res up.

This is how RX 6900 XT and RTX 4070 compete in popular games:
1080p resolution:
RTX 4070 is 9.2% faster than RX 6900 XT
1440p resolution:
RX 6900 XT is 13.2% faster than RTX 4070
4K resolution:
RX 6900 XT is 16.4% faster than RTX 4070

Rtx 4070 and rx 7800 also has the machine learning ai core stuff in it. So if your using any software that relies on that, the 6900 xt will be significantly slower than those because it doesn't contain any of that.

That just doesn't seem to be the case at all..at least not with current drivers. 7800 xt is superior across the board.

And the 7800 xt is 500-550
