This is the new world. Amazon charging $2 for in-garage option. Prime videos will have ads with no price reduction. Restaurants charging "inflation fees." Fast food places charging an extra $1 for a thimble of ketchup. Veterinarians charging $25 fee to administer your own meds to a pet while they are hospitalized and a $15 fee to approve an Rx. Local hospital charging my insurance company an $1,800(!) "facility fee" for every 1-hour outpatient physical therpay session (on top of the PT charge) - 3x per week!. Some warehouses are now charing $200 to pick up orders. It's all ridiculous. The consuer is now paying for the cost of business twice - once w/ the item that already has these costs built into the price and a second time with the standlone fees.

New email, new dummy address, virtual credit card, random phone number, random name, VPN or use mobile data. That should bypass whatever they're checking. They don't verify ID or need to print cards these days.

So I normally do this every year, alternating between 3 email addresses. No matter which email address I use, the Sams website tells me "We see you are an existing member, this deal is only for new customers. Would you like to renew?" and if I select YES, it takes me to a renewal page and bumps up the price to $50.

I cant seem to get in in the $15 deal like I have done in previous years. Anybody else have any luck?

I just tried again. I used my normal info (name, mailing address, credit card info that I have used at Sams before), but I went and created a brand new gmail address JUST to get this promo. It still came back with:

This info is associated with a Sam's Club account.
This offer is only for new members.
To check your renewal date, please check your billing statement or your online account, or CHAT with an associate. Please have your membership card or statement on hand.

So we used to be able t just add a + sign, and some gibberish to the end of the gmail address. Looks like now they are looking at username or address or something, too?

Any thoughts?

They could be tracking either payment methods or households.

Gamefly does the same thing. I have changed emails, added a new payment, but then they look at my address and deny me. A new payment method used to work but no longer does.

Either they have your name linked to your previous membership, or else they have you linked to your IP address, and they see the same IP address trying to purchase memberships year after year.

Probably the former, but could be the latter.

Get a prepaid visa card with random address and change the address back in few days once membership is approved. Usually Same name + address is common denominator for tracking, but since one cannot change name easily, just change the address.

They are charging $5.14 for shipping, or $4 for pick up fee, for a pack of cheese crackers. The more you add to the cart, the higher the shipping fee.
