Is saving ~300 on a refurbished version of this good?

Edit: went on to the page and didn't see the price the op quoted. The link does take you to the website with this reduced price.

I may be wrong but I find it hard to believe the cps warranty covering burn in. I looked around before I bought mine and it seemed like only best buy's warranty covered that and maybe one other place. Reason I bought mine from Best buy

Buy dig site says it does and I'm pretty sure CPS official site says it does not
And if you do a little digging and research a lot of ppl have trouble with the cps insurance. not trying to downplay the deal just thought I'd let anyone know that was interested

Their FAQ's state that burn in is not covered. It also unfortunately states they don't cover stolen TVs. https://www.cpscentral.com/televi...tion-plan/

CPS and buydig have a custom plan that does cover it. it's not a plan they sell separately

PC Mag called the 65" version of this set oustanding [pcmag.com] and gave it a 4.5/5.0. Rtings.com was similarly enthusiastic [rtings.com].

You don't need it. It's too expensive. It's too big. It will be cheaper next year. The car needs gas. The house needs fixing. The kids need shoes.

Same, but decided to buy it.

I don't have the time to chase the super YMMV deals. My only concern is the warranty, but at least it has "something" if all goes bad (likely to never need it, fingers-crossed).

If you guys are comfortable with refurbs, you can probably find a 20-25% off deal at Secondipity and score a 77" A80J for ~$1,350

I'm very happy with mine

C2 is better than a80j in terms of brightness

I'm with you, wasted a bunch of my free time this week scoping out 77 deals once I got it in my mind to get one. Said I'd bite on a $2k 77 OLED and here we are, no regrets.
