Expect either price drop (or limited time $ off) at the end of the year. Tesla needs to sell 1.8M cars. They need 490k this quarter to keep pushing the stock up.

Go with Hyundai Ioniq 5. A bit slower than Tesla, same range and much better interior and feel for driving. It even charges faster than a Tesla if you have a EA 350KW charging station near you (free charging for the first 2 years).
I had one for a month and then my wife claimed ownership over it. I am driving a similar priced Acura... Ioniq 5 for the win
Downside is, I am still paying for the Ioniq 5 lease, goes to charge the car 2 times a week and pay for gas every other week... so if you do get an Ioniq 5... you may not be able to keep it

At this rate, if I wait a few years, I might actually be able to get one of these for 25K lol. They're trying to push Q4 numbers really hard. I wouldn't be shocked if the price drops more as they get more desperate as they hit the holiday season.

I couldn't agree more. Minimalist interiors likely won't appeal to someone who likes blinged out button laden ones and that's ok. The same goes for vehicle exteriors.

I personally think when comparably priced vehicles (30-40k after tax credit) are benchmarked the model 3 and Y are extremely nice.

You probably never of Ford who has been in the business for years and still has the highest amount of recalls. I own one, and in three years 4 recalls. I'll take my chances on a Tesla

Your electricity still comes from fossil fuel power plants, batteries are extremely expensive to replace, extra heavy weight does more damage to our infrastructure and releases more toxic tire dust while driving, battery + salt may equal huge fire that could burn down your house if in garage and will take 10k-20k gallons of water to extinguish, not good for the economy there. Also takes longer to charge than pumping gas for 4 minutes.

Right now in the US, 30 percent of all electricity is generated by alternate sources, so the electricity is not necessarily from fossil fuels. If you have evidence of Tesla's burning houses down more often than ICE vehicles, please post a link. Even ICE engines can catch on fire in a garage, which is why here in Michigan it is against building codes to have a furnace in your garage, but an EV charger is fine. I have never owned an EV, but find the biases on both sides interesting.

Tesla is going to price out the competition. Not a fan of Teslas due to the cheap feeling interior, but you can't deny the price, EV range, and leader in EV.

At some point, competitors will have to drop price.

Don't get me wrong. Solid state versus ICE is a far better solution... but implementation is the issue. Generally you don't see ICE cars blow up when they're rear-ended - and before you say that was a fringe occurrence, one time is too much for me to trust my wife driving a car that probably won't do that, but might. Just too many things that concern me. The good thing is we have pretty much every car company doing EVs now, so I think things will get much better in the next 10 years or so.
