These things come new with steering wheels that fall off, brake pads not installed, etc.
Don't get me wrong, I love my model 3 performance however from a car enthusiast perspective an EV can never parallel the experience of a pure sports car like an m3.The sensation of shifting through the gears and hearing the roar of the engine with the turbos spooling up makes for an incredible experience. Yeah, instant torque from EV is nice but it doesn't have too much flavor if that makes sense. You step on it, next thing you know ur at 80 and then ur done. When I drive pure sports cars like his m3 the adrenaline starts as soon as I turn the car on. It feels like a rocket getting ready to launch.
But then again, you have to look at it from the perspective of practicality. He bought his car to drive for fun once a week. I bought my car primarily to commute daily and travel long distances while relaxing, and in addition I get to have some fun with it.

There is no price drop. The Tesla Y AWD is still $48.5K. $44k is for a RWD which is a new option introduced. It has less range and slower.
The OP put the spec of the AWD and the price of the RWD
I'm sure their fans will argue this, but the studies on quality all show Tesla at or near the bottom of the pile...and for a vehicle that has so many fewer parts than an ICE or PHEV that's really indicative of their process, quality control and disregard for customer satisfaction.
Goggle it yourself. Here's the first 3 that popped up for me.
