Have fun with range anxiety, I also heard the costs are getting as high as gas prices at charges.
Dont get me wrong the tesla is a great car if you like finding or waiting to charge and stopping 5 times for a 850m trip and spending 30m figuring out what to do. I want to fill up and go and take quick bathroom breaks.
So if you like driving around the city 50m hybrid range is all you need imo.
Besides the cost of fixing a tesla when out of warranty can be a disaster ,especially if you hit something that damages the battery.
I an surprised how good lane keep assist has improved over the years. although auto pilot if cool if you spend the money to get it. people can get incomplacent driving a tesla and most likely someone will hit you first before you hit them just because they rely on autopilot. most accidents are avoided with the driver being more defensive and reacting to situations that would cause your car to be damaged. these electric cars need to be at 400 to 500m range before id consider one. I also thought by now the batteries would have improved but looks like you need to spend 100k to get a tesla with 400m range
For a new 2023 Toyota Tundra the average cost of full-coverage car insurance is $185
For a new 2023 Tesla Model Y the average cost of full-coverage car insurance is $289
This is factoring in a married 35 year old male with good credit. Sure this will vary but Tesla insurance is common knowledge way higher due to the fact any minor accident can lead to a totaled vehicle much easier with a Tesla.
My model Y performance can beat a c7 corvette 0-60 one day,
I know this is a big talking point for Tesla owners, but as the owner of a 2019 Grand Sport I can tell you it is not really a 0-60 car. This car is built to run on a track. ALL DAY.
So I would love to see you beat my C7 on a track. Your brakes would probably melt before you had to recharge the first time.
0-60 is insignificant really. Suspension and braking are just as important as speed. What good is speed if you can't get around a corner at speed, or you can't stop the car from that speed repeatedly.

Car was great and fast but if I had to upgrade I would want AWD just because winters and cold weather with ice where I live. Also Hondas have no torque. If I had the option to buy a car it would be tesla or a hybrid AWD. If I had money during bidenomics I would have a corvette mid engine for the summer and hybrid in the garage for all weather conditions.
Hondas are also cheap to fix . One could easily keep one for 10+ years with little maintenance costs. resale value on a civic type r will be a better car and almost certain will be a collectors item in 20 years.
I'm holding out. Stay strong brothers.

Um, I'm gonna have to ask for proof of that one. I mean the number of Teslas with 500,000 has to be minuscule let alone one with original pads LOL.
Also, it is recommended to service the caliper pins at the very least every 2 years, more if you are in an environment that salts the roads. I would hate to see you actually try to use the brakes and the calipers are seized
