I paid $2 for mine from a magical elf, he warned me of its powers but I did not listen. Chaos ensued, I wish to this day I never met that elf.

For those with a Target RedCard, might want to consider buying it from Target. This fan is on sale for Targert Circle week.

Had older model that worked until I threw it away 6+ years and filled with dust, still worked but upgraded.

If this isn't good enough for people or they are concerned I recommend looking at used/very good Vornado 460 or higher model as a REAL alternative that moves more CFM, quieter, and certainly has better quality. Saying amazon basics is basically taking one toll manufactured gamble for another and claiming quality based on luck, it's nonsensical...

These last about a year with regular use. Amazon brand is a good alternative, slightly more CFM and quieter.

Yes, I think mine was $10, but I use it, and I need another one!

I have a couple of these, and they have lasted for years with minimal use. I've had a few of the larger model that I used all day every day. The only reason those ones stopped were because people tripped over them and broke the base.

Just my two cents. I'm going to buy 2 more, because why not?

Good fans, tilt mechanism is the weak point with Honeywell fans.

Have two of this model and regret buying them even for the $10 each that I paid. I've tried different outlets, in different rooms and both of them sound like the power is briefly cut or surges for a second then they go back to normal. If you're using them for white noise to sleep it will drive you bonkers and it doesn't seem safe. We have other fans that don't do that and lights plugged in don't flicker so it must be something weird about the fans. Hopefully a bad batch but I wouldn't recommend.

You must have got some bad ones. I have the opposite experience. One of mine has been running almost non-stop for over a year with no issues.

I bought two of these last year for for $8.50 give or take. One of them is in the bathroom to cool me off for a hour or two in the summer (TMI) I know but, it still works fine. The other, is in the garage to cool me off while I am working. I know this is limited use but, they show no signs of failing.
