Looks like a decent deal. Why the downvotes?

This was $999 at launch. 25% off 3 years later doesn't seem like enough discount.

These are fantastic workhorses. Reliable, long batter life, fast, with no "on" or "boot" times. Also quiet.
I put these everywhere in my business for use.

I tried to order from Amazon and I got an openbox item. The item was clearly a returned one as the macbook air was even actually in sleep mode. Returned immediately and took a really long time to get money back. Stay away from Amazon for expensive items.

Been looking for a laptop on Facebook lately, and I swear MacBooks are the only ones I've seen that have 2010-2015 models that are still working as they should. Alas, I can't choose getting a [newer] MacBook simply because I'm about to start learning programming, but damn wish one would suffice for my uses.

I had one of these and recently dropped it damaging the display. Until then it was a flawless machine and I was extremely happy with it. I just ordered another one and if you apply and qualify for the amazon business card they give you another $200 off. It was $612 including tax. Slick deal if you ask me.

Anyone had issues with cracked displays?

It seems to have been big enough of an issue for many that there was a lawsuit for it.

Some say that it's due to having a screen protector, keyboard cover, and protective case on it.

Others claim to have babied theirs, have put nothing on it at all, and have still found cracks from normal usage.

The XPS line has great build quality. My 2015 is still solid, and it's easier to upgrade the SSD than a comparable air from the same era.

Not trusting dell again. Whole reason I need a new laptop is because I bought one from a deal here back in 2020, direct from dells site, and it has given me nothing but problem after problem after problem, despite me barely using it ( maybe an hour or two a week at the most) Sending it back in for the third time this upcoming week. (Have been paying them monthly for an extended warranty) Hoping they'll just give up on repairing it this time, and replace it, so I can proceed to sell the replacement, as I can't in good conscience sell the "repaired" heap of crap to some poor unsuspecting soul that would probably start having issues with it in a few weeks. It's an Inspiron 7xxx touch screen model. Thought I was getting a great deal when I bought it. Turns out they probably had good reason for letting it go for the price they did with the specs it has. Never again. Going for a Lenovo or something this time around. If I didn't need windows, I'd definitely be choosing a MacBook of some sort.

yep.. bought an ipad mini 6 from amazon.. used... they took 30-40 days to refund. they said high value items will always take that long to process.. and amazon didn't actually refund.. I had to nag them about it after 30 days.

it's a known thing .. also the video cable for the display was made so that it wears down intentionally. you can google imgs of it. obviously time was the limiting factor in being able to see these carefully planned obsolescence tactics. ofc you'll have the sheep denying and defending apple. the mba m2 uses the same cable.. so you won't see mass issues until a bit later.
