Considered to be the 2nd best 2.5" SATA SSD by a VERY small margin behind the EVO 860/870. The performance difference is so close between them that in real world use it would be nearly impossible to tell a difference. Earlier versions of the drive had a firmware issue that incorrectly recorded the wear level of the drive, but that has been resolved with firmware updates. The TBW limit is lower, but if I remember correctly, it still comes out to something around 90GB a day for 5 years on the 1TB version before that TBW limit is reached. Most consumers will never reach this limit.

- Has DRAM
- TLC drive
- 5 year warranty

People typically yell "fakes from Amazon" for storage options like this, but I have purchased numerous SSDs, flashdrives, and microSD cards sold and shipped by Amazon that were all tested to be correct. I have never heard of anyone actually receiving a fake first hand. It has always been someone mentioning that other people received fakes. Does it happen? Sure, probably. Is it widespread? Doubt it. It seems extremely rare.

I've purchased.. oh my gosh, six of these over the years for desktop and laptop PC's alike (in the case of laptops the acer's had a second hard drive storage bay these got popped into) and have been very pleased with all of them as far as their performance and reliability. the oldest one is the 1 TB version I've been using as a C drive for Win 10 in my desktop PC and it's getting close to 3 years of age now and still running fine (though come my Win 11 upgrade I'll try using the samsung 970 evo plus I installed as the new C drive and see how that goes and turn the crucial drive into a drive to install games on).

Of course if you have a m2 slot in your motherboard given how cheap m2 drive prices are right now you probably should go ahead and use that slot (bearing in mind that it may or may not disable other sata slots on your motherboard as long as the m2 is in there check your motherboard manual) ... I jumped on the Samsung 970 Evo Plus bandwagon (hopefully they prove to be as good as the internet seems to think it is) for my desktop builds given it's also low-compared-to-normal price .. but absolutely grab this too , if you can afford it doesn't hurt to have both in your PC.

(Warning - the samsung 970 evo plus's have a reputation for running hot which is something I've confirmed although this depends on your PC build and how well it cools the inside of your PC .. having said that it never went higher than.. trying to remember.. 53 .. 55 degrees? .. when I "stress tested " it on the warmest desktop PC I have, my son's build ... some might argue installing and running Batman Arkham Knight and Deux Ex Mankind Divided doesn't count as real stress testing Stick Out Tongue but it handled both games just fine .. did a lot of research on it online, apparently there are people who have their 970 evo hit 50 and 60 some degrees routinely and it still works just fine, it's if the drive routinely goes beyond 70 degrees C that you need to worry.. you can download and use the free crystaldisk info program to monitor temps or Samsung Magician)

54% off list, but looks like it's been hovering at 47.99 for quite a while. I guess $1.99 off is a very tiny deal.

Is this good for XBOX One X or PS4 Slim?
