go for the extra ram, that can make them still usable later on down the road. Not "future proof" but it certainly helps keep a machine relevant for longer than would be otherwise

Yes, $69 extra for twice the Ram, 32GB on that other deal vs 64GB on this one.

I'm running p50 with 32g, I don't think 64g is really needed unless you know why you want it.

I want it because it seems like, if anything, non-upgradeable RAM would be the bottleneck on this laptop in a couple of years.
That said, I concede 32GB is also pretty beefy at the moment, but the premium they're charging for the RAM upgrade (less than $100) is really modest. For comparison, Apple charges $400 to go from 32GB RAM to 64GB RAM on its Macbook Pro 16. Heck, you'd probably pay a similar amount for a 32GB DDR5 SODIMM (were the laptop's memory user upgradeable -- which of course, it is not).

How do you like the 4k screen? I'm debating whether to buy this one versus waiting for the XPS 15.
XPS 15 has a diffewrent use case and apart from the most basic version, all of them come with a dedicated GPU. About the price, the OLED version of the latest XPS will cost you a lot more than this, with lesser configuration.
I could not find anyway on lenovo website that says this model is the larger battery (86Wh). Anyone can confirm on their page? Otherwise very tempting.

Note, a certain cashback site is also taking 10% off of Lenovo right now. So I got this for like $1142 plus tax.
