Are you implying yourself to get another one?

Yes. It's also smaller than the Tesla one so less likely to catch on stuff in the glove box.

I like the idea, but I won't buy these.

These are glued together and they get hot. I owned three of the USB 3.0 version and every one of them melted the glue holding the case together. Had to remove the chip from my USB with needle nose pliers for one of them.

After installing 50GB worth of data onto the flash drive, when I plugged it into multiple devices, they either shut off completely or told me it used too much power.

Haven't tried the PNY 256GB yet, but it seems like every 256GB small form factor Flash Drive I've had has issues. Had both 256GB Sandisk Ultra Fit and 256GB Samsung Fit Plus. The Sandisk gets extremely hot after less than 1 minute, and the Samsung uses too much power and shuts off some of my devices.

Then what do you suggest then? I really want something like this to plug into my car so I could listen to video and music from Limewire, Kazaa, and Napster era that stored in my burned cds

It didn't work out well for me. Actually no drive works out well for me - regardless of saving videos, it seems Tesla doesn't clean up after itself? And I ultimately have to format the cards to get them working reliably again (2017 S with HW3)

For this reason I'd suggest going 512GB. I'm using a mciroSD in a tiny Samsung microsd reader

I've had better experience using a Micro SD card adapter. https://a.co/d/gZzTuXI Samsung 256GB Micro SD card adapter. Another option Sandisk USB adapter https://a.co/d/7VlUK28
