The C220 is $100 (normally $150), and it includes fingerprint entry. I think that's the better deal:

Every company is a trojan horse for your data. Let's not pretend that Nest, Wyze, Blink, Arlo, and all the others aren't just as capable of being hacked and infiltrated. Eufy at least has the decency to not charge you a monthly fee while also being a vulnerability.

At the end of the day if someone wants to gain access to your system bad enough, they're going to be able to.

Don't buy Eufy security products! The Verge has a series of articles about how they lied about their privacy controls, how footage was being transmitted to their servers despite specific promises that it was only locally stored, and that the data was sent unencrypted.

Don't trust them with your security.

Thanks for linking to this one. I noticed the S230 is on sale for $160. Only difference I can tell is it has better weatherproofing?

Is the only difference the fingerprint entry?

That's old news. They've fixed the issues. Eufy is good. One of the only companies not forcing monthly fees. They allow local storage on their devices.

This was a year ago and Eufy has already patched the security hole that was never intented to be there while also setting up a bounty program to help find other security issues. Also the flaw that was exploited originally still required the person to have physical access to the cameras to be able to find a specific number imprinted on them. They weren't just mindlessly broadcasting unencrypted video feeds of people's cameras out there.

This is a lock, not a camera. Not sure what kind of data they can take from that besides when it's opened and closed...
