I BELIEVE this matches the lowest ever for these. I got them for $99 on a Black Friday-ish sale. You'd be hard pressed to get better quality cans at this price point.

I'm a basshead, so they weren't for me (not that I expected them to be) and I had no problem selling them (used for about an hour) at my cost.

Fostex, Fostex, and more Fostex.

TH + TR-X00 Mahogany / TR-X00 Ebony / TH-900 MK2 Urushi Red + Sapphire Blue.

The Audeze LCD-2 closed is also a meaty headphone with some good low end.

As a basshead, what did you end up going with?

these babies are made so well the new ceo was pissed that customers could buy one headset and it's last forever...no planned obsolesce . I think they've started up a new brand for the headphones of lower quality.

anyway that is totally out of step with the culture of quality that comes out of germany!

I am currently using these headphones and my ear cushion on my right side is already coming off. Other than that sound quality is excellent. Will probably buy another pair to replace the ones I already have.

I bought this when they were $199.99 (full price), and other than the fabric finish on the padding, the overall quality is lackluster, and $80 is the right price (not a good deal) for this headphone. In fact, I had to spend $50 for a cheap amp to make the sound quality remotely closer to the similarly priced competition.

Also, keep in mind that the ear pads are NOT replaceable. If you don't trust me, buy one and try to put it back.

If you were always on the fence about whether Sennheiser makes quality products, this product for sure will convince you to never buy one again.

Hopefully that new CEO doesn't get his way. We consumers put up with too much planned obsolescence as it is from major brands like Apple.

No. Use and appreciate the Sundara, these appear to be a downgrade, as they should for the very different price points.

You are free to try. I replaced ear pads on other Sennheiser headphones without any issues. This was a poorly designed headphone.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that Sennheiser support was non-existent when I had this issue. It took them 3 weeks to get back to me.

Same thing happened to me, just look for generic ear cushions that fit it. Watch some videos to learn how to pop them off (very easy) and snap new ones on and you're golden.

I am tempted but my old sennhausers still work great, but the padding on headband has started to peel, any idea id that is fixable and if so at what cost?
