I picked this up last prime day. I am generally underwhelmed and regret buying it. It seems to struggle when the lid is closed on my Weber grill and Ninja woodfire grill. It loses signal easily and is ironically finicky with moderate heat.
For example, when. I was smoking a small brisket in the Ninja Woodfire, it gave me an excessive warning, and it stopped working. If the Meater block was a song, it would be Isn't it Ironic, by Alanis Morrissette....

I was on the fence thinking maybe my experience will defer from everyone else, but upon seeing your comment, it seems not. Will go with Chef IQ instead.

I should note that it seems to work ok when the lid is open. This could work for something like a rotisserie where cords would be a pain. For me at least, I go back to my trusty Thermapen. My $30 Weber Connect also gets more use than the Meaters. They work decently well minus the short battery life and cables.
