Got this monitor back when it was sub-700. Speaking from a competitive gaming perspective this monitor is just too much for the eyes IMO. Even playing in windowed, this monitor was extremely finicky and took a lot of work to get it to the frames and resolution I needed it to be. Now if you plan on playing AAA titles on 2k resolution then the monitor looks phenomenal.

Productivity and workflow wise this monitor obviously excels. With the ability to plug in two different sources and split the screen between the two is an awesome feature as well.

But Buyer beware, the QC for this monitor is horrendous - just look up G9 issues. I was plagued with terrible scan lines at 240hz on the top corners of the screen. This is a known issue as well as HDR incompatibility, black screen, flickering etc. Samsung actually sent out a technician to replace the panel completely and he told me that he does this on a regular basis. Still didn't fix the scan lines. Ended up selling and hoping for something better down the line.
This isn't a bad deal, but I'd get the Neo.

I have the Neo G9 the local dimming is actually essential for this monitor in my opinion. It's a good monitor for productivity and gaming and I had no Issues with it so far.

Bought it 2 years ago at $1000 for Sim Racing. It is excellent. This is a great deal and I believe this is the cheapest is ever been. You usually see at this price the CRG49, not this Odyssey.

It's been cheaper. Most of the time you can find it floating around $700.

Fortunately, I haven't noticed these issues on mine, which I also got back when it was under $700. I'm very happy with it. However, recent customer reviews are concerning, to say the least

I had a novel written out to explain all of the cons in detail, but then I accidentally clicked off of the text box on mobile and it cleared it all. So I'll simply type this as an ex-owner: don't do it.

Obnoxious stand or overpriced 3rd party mount. 4 tiny easily stripped screws holding it up. 240Hz at this resolution is way too much even for my overclocked 3090TI Hybrid/13700K on 98% of games you throw at it. Don't get me started on Samsung's atrocious policies, tech support, and insane ways to void your entire warranty (goes back to the screw thing). Not to mention the shopping list of reasons others have already mentioned.

If you're going to spend more than $500, the MSI Artymis 34" is a strong recommendation from me or the Corsair Xeneon Flex if you want to, well, flex your wallet. But definitely avoid this. I wouldn't buy another even for $300.

Great monitor that I use for work and gaming. The other comments are true that it takes a hefty computer to power this thing at max/near max settings gaming. I have a 4090 and I don't believe I have ever hit the 240 fps limit (or 120 in most of them). Only downside I have seen is the colors do feel washed out at times compared to my OLEDs. If you can spend a little more I would push to the Samsung OLED model.

I bought the same monitor back when it was $1,400.00. I'm not sure what other resolutions people are running I play at 3840 X 1440 or 5120 X 1440. I'm also playing Apex Legends which the graphics are normally pretty good on any monitor. Some odd reason a lot of people complain I've had nothing but a good experience with this monitor first when I got no scan lines no dead pixels, basically no issues at all. I do see a lot of people speaking about the QA and then having multiple issues luckily I didn't run into any of these. Also if you buy this from Amazon you definitely can return with no problem if you're not satisfied. I did have to update the firmware on it when connecting to my Nvdia 4090, most difficult part was finding a small 8 GB flash drive which I just went around with Rufus formatting a 256GB and making it 8 GB and then I was able to update the firmware and the monitor was able to read the USB flash drive at that point. This December will be 3 years that I've owned this monitor I'm just waiting for the newer one to go to this price range. I've looked around and there isn't too much out there that's actually better for reasonable price. I would love to have a 360 or 480 Hertz monitor but unfortunately those only come in small sizes nothing over 27-in.

I own this one and while I like it, I wish I'd waited for OLED. It's a decent monitor but you should know what you're getting into with QLED - if you're spoiled with deep blacks and good contrast with other monitors, you will be disappointed. The UI is also finnicky and it's a pain in the butt to change cables in the back (I need to use my phone's camera to help me figure out where the inputs are), but that's pretty minor.

I will just say that, as a gaming monitor, I love the way that it looks but found unexpected issues with it in certain types of titles. For example, in games like Factorio and Civ Vi (which i realize are not the market for this monitor), parts of the UI become a huge hassle to access, you sort of feel like youre turning your head to something other than the game you're playing to access them and your mouse has to cover a lot of real estate. Not a problem with the monitor per se, just those types of titles werent made with this in mind. Recently started starfield and it isn't full screen by default, I'm sure I can fix that I just haven't yet. Rust looks really good on it but it distorts the sides and warps/zooms things in weird kinds of fisheye lens type ways. I guess its all sort of the downside of being an early adopter for this type of screen.
