This is still a great deal. Now that I have a 13th gen, though, I could not go back to 11th.

Been at this price for over a month.

All of the talk about BIOS issues and USB port issues has me holding off. You are supposed to be paying a premium for the Thinkpad quality, but if it has issues like these, then might as well go for something cheaper.

And those aren't the only issues. I have one of these for work and have had hardware issues like a weird frustrating trackpad delay which updating the drivers didn't help. Also the adaptive brightness is really aggressive and distracting and there seems to be no way to adjust it.

I bought one of these last month to replace my 3 year old Razer Blade Stealth. I quickly replaced the SSD with a gen4 1TB and reinstalled everything. I have no issues with it other than terrible performance. This is a SLOW machine. When I was deciding which one to buy, I figured there would be minimal difference between the i5 and i7. Maybe I was wrong?

Can you guys recommend something better for this price?

This laptop was $599 last week. Pretty sure that the price of manufacturing a 3 year old laptop hasn't risen in the last week or two.

You were wrong. For many tasks, no big difference. For some tasks, huge differences. It seems almost random, probably depending on cache misses.

At this price for this size? I cannot. A little bigger? I'm still happy with my XPS 13+. Smaller? Then it's a GPD, but you need external devices to truly use it.

The previous $600 deal was for the non touchscreen model

I have one with an i7. No bios issues, no usb port issues. I use it daily and use a "dock" port replicator on usb-c nearly every day.

Touchscreen is usually $100 more, so a better deal!

edit: just a note on those reporting problems. It's just like in the cell phone world, some people use non pps/pd chargers and they can fry a device or make problems using the wrong charger. A common thing in the cell phone world is to use one of those oppo super duper fast chargers, they seem to break most phones that use the standard usb-c pd today. I'd expect the same with a laptop.

Thank you for heads up. I also searched a bit and looks like horrible thermals combined with aggressive turbo settings from intel (from era when intel was desperately trying to respond to ryzen) makes this beauty unreliable. The word opposite of thinkpad. Multiple reddit posts such as this: https://www.reddit.com/r/thinkpad...?rdt=41878
Never expected to see a high end thinkpad to be sold as too cheap to be true, fishy price and there is a reason for it.

Lenovo has BIOS issues even with their legions. Pray you're within warranty. As soon as you're out of warranty they give 0 F's even though it's clearly Lenovo's fault and ongoing problems..
