Because they make enough money on YT that selling is just for show
I've never understood how that works. I spend a lot of time on YT and I get bombarded with commercials but I've never bought anything that was advertised so how do the advertisers make any money? All of the commercials have ruined YT. You can't listen to a song without sitting thru 5 commercials and people will say anything for hits.

They are only shutting down 154 stores for this reorganization.
They're listed in this article.

I'm surprised that they're closing down the Burbank store. It's right across the street from Porto's and near the studios but it's always empty. The CVS up the street is the busiest CVS that I've ever been to and sells a ton of alcohol (the expensive stuff). It's a 24 hour store and there are always people in there. As for Rite Aid, everybody goes to the one on Vineland and Ventura. You always see somebody famous in there. If the Eagle Rock store is the one I'm thinking off, a store employee got killed there a few years ago. It's not the safest place. Same with the Crenshaw store but I might be thinking of the Gardena store. If it wasn't for the security guard, I would be a statistic. I got surrounded as I got out of my car and one guy pulled out a knife but then the security guard came out with a gun and they all ran away. The security guard walked over and gave me a lecture on how stupid I was to shop there. I hadn't been there for a few years and it used to be ok. That's the story with a lot of RA's and Los Angeles in general. Stores that used to be safe no longer are. Anyway, managers from other stores are going to the stores that are closing to take back stuff to their stores so I wouldn't make a long trip out to one thinking that you'll score. Going out of business sales at RA usually are horrible. The last one I went to was in Westlake. Beautiful area but the store was a dump. The wait to check out as an hour and none of the good stuff was marked down. The staff couldn't have cared less. Most people left. I should've, too, but I was with some friends and we stood around and talked so it was ok.

Some random RA thoughts from my shopping trip today.

Take a walk down the toy aisle and look at the toy packages. You might get a
nice surprise that could be very useful at a later date.

I love how RA puts something on clearance and then takes it off the next day.

They'll do the same thing with new low price. The next day it will be back to the old high price.

I bought $21 of Conair today but only $3 tracked and I got no Bonus Cash. It was all stuff that worked earlier in the week.

10/40 Bonus Cash coupons are so much easier to work with than 10/50's.

It's very hard to find on stock on anything that I want to buy.

I forgot to buy more Huggies wipes and Viva paper towels. They had Viva on an endcap. They had a Cottonelle 12 pack dispaly over by the soda pop.

There's a new Swiffer that I saw today. Don't know anything about it.

Bummed that there's no $3/2 Colgate L2C.

I was thinking about doing the Hello deal but I decided against it because most of the boxes
didn't have exp dates. The mouthwash is in a tiny box (smaller than the toothpaste box).

Dove prices are crazy. $10 for deodorant...

It's not as bad as Nivea women's bodywash at $10.49. That makes even CVS look cheap.

No stock on Nivea lotion. Only the expensive Eucerin and Aquaphor are in stock. I still should've done it but I passed because my record keeping is really bad and I'm not sure of my tracking.

I've bought a bunch of the Cottonelle wipes. I don't know why. I've never used them.

I can't make up my mind if I should do the Poise deal.

I'm not seeing any food items that i want other than the big bags of Dorritos for 50 cents..

Add two Dorritos and a caramel to your Huggies wipes deal and use three $5 coupons. 24 wipes and 2 Dorritos for $15. Pretty hard to beat that. I'm sure that some people on here can but I'm not one of them.

I'm having a hard time understanding what's going on. RA is going to ask the judge to let them out of 347 leases they have on stores. They have an auction to sell their retail assets in November. Does that mean that all of the stores are closing in November? This is where I'm confused. What are retail assets? Is it just assets from the 347 stores or is it the entire chain? Also, another article said that the judge has not approved using the money that RA was loaned for paying employee salaries. I hope that's wrong. Employees need to get paid. The board that put RA in this mess is certainly getting paid.

They are not going out of business.
They filed Chapter 11 not Chapter 7.
Know the difference.
This is a reorganization and they've already reserved a loan to get through their bankruptcy reoganization.
They will close a rumored 500 stores.
Key Points

Drugstore chain Rite Aid revealed it lost more than $1 billion in the months before it filed for bankruptcy.
The company issued a warning to investors that said it may not be able to keep its business running.
Rite Aid has struggled to compete with its larger and better-funded rivals and has also faced a slew of litigation related to the opioid epidemic.

They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
