Mirrorless is not shrinking and the need to record 4K and 8K has only increased.
They're not common, but they're still used in some DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. They still tend to have SIGNIFICANTLY higher read/write speed than your average SD card of 2023 does.
I doubt any laptop supports this.

This is basically only used in high end cameras and camcorders.

I have the SanDisk Cf Express Type B cards in 128 and 256. Never had a problem. Highly recommend.

In 2019, I remember paying for a Sony XQD 120GB for $200 that read 440MB/s, write 400MB. This is much better and cheaper for my Nikon D850. Now $80 for 1700MB/s read and 1400MB/s write.

You are confusing your old laptop media with something else. This CFExpress Type B card is NOT in your old laptops. :-)

This is the current go-to media for all your mirrorless and current DSLRs that are made today so that you can write 4K and 8K video. This is a very modern media that is the defacto media for these cameras. Only really been available for a few-ish years.

They are very common. It is the go-to media for current mirrorless and DSLR's that do 4K and 8K video (Nikon, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, etc. all use this in their good cameras). This type of media is only a few years old.

That's not really common. The camera market is shrinking every year.

And it's unlikely new markets will open for this type of format.

Mirrorless is not shrinking and the need to record 4K and 8K has only increased.

You're not wrong, but where this deal is concerned this... 128GB isn't a ton of recording time at 8K or 4K, really.

128gb is ample for JPG or even Raw files.

Talking about video, hence 'recording time'
