You can always chat and have them change the closing date to whatever you want. They sometimes will have to play with it cause some will only adjust the payment due date.

I was under the impression that points earned in 2023 would not apply toward the companion pass in 2024 & 2025 (assuming you were trying to get it for two years) hence my plan to start the spending AFTER the December closing date. If you earned points in Nov and Dec, but hit spend in Jan… you'd still get the bonus, but I thought the earlier points wouldn't count toward the companion pass. Somehow I thought they have a way of determining when and how the point was earned.
I guess the question is, in order to maximize the benefit… nearly two full years of companion pass, do the points need to be earned in the beginning of the year… eg 2024 (following the Dec closing date). Prior threads on this topic have implied this.
